I do not recommend this hotel, especially for families staying more than a couple of nights.
We are a family of five with three children, and the room is extremely small. We are literally on top of each other. There is no balcony or terrace, which is a huge inconvenience after coming back from the beach. We have sand everywhere in the room because there is nowhere to dry towels or leave our beach items.
What is even more shocking is the complete lack of storage. There is no wardrobe, no closet, and no dressing area at all. For a family of five staying for more than 10 days, this is completely unacceptable. We have had to keep all of our suitcases open because there is nowhere to unpack our clothes. There is only a small recessed space in the wall for the suitcases, but no shelves, no drawers, and no hanging space. As a result, our belongings are scattered all over the floor, making the room feel even smaller and more uncomfortable.
The room smells musty and damp, and the air conditioning is incredibly noisy. It makes a terrible sound all night, making it very difficult to sleep.
The photos on the website do not reflect reality at all. We were very disappointed when we arrived.
The breakfast is honestly one of the worst we have ever had. The food is not appetizing, and even our children, who are usually not picky eaters, refuse to eat it. The fruit is served warm because there is no air conditioning in the restaurant, which makes breakfast very unpleasant.
The only positive point is that the staff are kind and polite. Unfortunately, their friendliness cannot make up for the poor accommodation.
Another downside is that the hotel is far from most activities, making every trip longer than expected.
If you are staying for one or two nights, it might be acceptable. However, we are here for more than 10 days, and our holiday has started in the worst possible way. I honestly don’t know how we are going to get through the rest of our stay.
Had 14 nights at the hotel and could not fault it in any way. Everything was fantastic, especially the staff. The main staff at reception were very helpful and polite, even the cleaners were lovely and worked very hard every day. The hotel grounds were great and the location also good. Beach about 10mins easy walk. I would highly recommend the hotel and ignore any negative reviews.
Had a wonderful stay at this hotel, great location, staff were amazing especially our housekeeper Prisan!
Last stayed here 9 years ago, as was attending a family wedding at another hotel.
This time we were a large group of 20+ for another family wedding.
We upgraded to a pool access room, tui wouldn't let us book this due to a child on our room booking. We'll worth it, lovely room, perfect for the children to nap in the shade and you can still be in the water keeing cool.
Some family were in the new blue rooms, but we prefer the main hotel.
It was exactly as we remember from last time.
Breakfast is basic on the English breakfast front but plentiful, the males all loved the thai currys etc. Lots of restaurants close by, beach not to far and tuk tuk at night, the kids loved blasting your own music and lights flashing.
Pauline ( customer service manager)was amazing, arranged photos of us all as we left kata palm to travel to wedding venue. Even arranged for the bride and grooms rooms to be decorated on there return. Thankyou so much for this.
Phuket is much more commercialised now, lots of Russians who are very abrupt.
We would return to this hotel if we come to phuket again.
The hotel is beautiful, and the pool is really big and it’s lovely to swim in. The pool and pool area is kept clean and well looked after. The staff are all very friendly, and are attentive and greet you at every opportunity. The cleaners were especially friendly and it was always nice walking past them and them giving you a big smile. I cannot review the restaurant as we didn’t eat in there but it looked nice, and for Songkran it had a big event and buffet. The breakfast was okay, nice omelette. Not many options for pastry’s, only bread ect. The hotel isn’t as close to the beach as we thought. It is a bit of a walk, and when it’s hot the walk does feel a little longer. A few occasions we got a tuk tuk to the end of the beach. It’s easy to get tuk tuk or taxis from the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, markets and a couple of bars. My only advice would be when booking, if your in the building where the roof pool and gym is, it can sometimes feel like your not part of Kata Palm resort, it is a building that is quite a walk to the very back of the resort, and I’ll be honest the walk isn’t pretty. Inside the building to get to your room it’s very dark blue, no windows and long corridors with one elevator, and sometimes you are waiting for it to go to each floor. It’s not easy to just pop back to the hotel to drop something off or grab something. I do believe though in the other buildings it would be a lot better. I think we prefer smaller resorts though so that’s just our preference. Thank you Kata Palm Resort
