There is this one bar at the top of the property which has great views, one of the best in PHUKET but has disgusting food. They should have the same food served from the in house place at the reception level

We booked the King Ocean View room at Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort mainly for the view, overlooking the reviews from past guests. Unfortunately, our stay quickly turned into a series of disappointments. Upon arrival, we discovered the balcony door couldn’t be locked securely, posing a serious security concern. Despite repeated calls, the issue took over an hour to resolve. As compensation, we were offered Regency Club access, but the frustration had already set the tone for our stay. The room itself felt outdated, with weak water pressure, slow toilet flushing, and cleanliness issues. Breakfast the next morning was unacceptable — a cockroach crawled out from the placemat, and food stations were poorly managed. Local Thai dishes were limited compared to Western and Indian options, and hot food wasn’t kept properly warm. This is far below expected hygiene standards. At the pool, my husband narrowly avoided being hit by a falling palm fruit. While staff clarified it wasn’t a coconut, the incident highlighted poor safety maintenance. Landscaping should be managed to prevent such risks. Housekeeping was inconsistent. Our room wasn’t cleaned despite the “make up room” sign, and when it was, hair remained on the floor. Trash bins left outside weren’t returned. These lapses show weak service quality. The Regency Club was another disappointment. It is not elderly, child, or disabled-friendly as there are no elevators — guests must climb a flight of stairs to reach it. The high tea menu was minimal, offering only simple sandwiches and a few cakes. On the positive side, the evening canapés and cocktails were decent enough, but overall the Club fell short of expectations for a premium facility. Management responses were mixed. Team leader GG was empathetic and attentive, but the room division manager seemed defensive and dismissive of our concerns. While we appreciated the gesture of a 3,000 THB credit and late check-out, no compensation can replace lost vacation time. A true 5-star property should meet basic hotel SOPs without guests having to fight for them. In our opinion, Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort operates closer to a 4-star level. The only highlights were the friendliness of staff members like Tisha from Casa Boho, Nada from Regency Club, GG team leader from front desk, View from housekeeping, and the buggy drivers — plus the undeniably beautiful ocean view.
