Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui

We are almost ready to leave this beautiful corner of paradise, and we already miss it.

After a long journey through China, we decided to extend our trip in Asia with a few days by the sea in Koh Samui, Thailand. We were lucky enough to stay at a boutique hotel of the highest standard.

The location is, without a doubt, one of the finest on the entire island, and the private beach is a privilege that very few resorts can offer. Surrounded by lush vegetation and absolute tranquillity, the villas are beautifully arranged along the hillside and blend perfectly into the natural landscape.

Our two-level room, with its stunning sea-view terrace, perfectly reflects the style and character of the resort. Since the sea here is simply wonderful, we chose a room without a private pool — and honestly, we found it fabulous anyway. The bathtub on the terrace, overlooking the sea, was the perfect place to relax every evening while watching the sunset.

The room offers every possible comfort, including two large bathrooms with spacious showers. Everything is beautifully maintained and thoughtfully organised, with attention to every little detail. At one point, we even asked whether the room had recently been renovated. We were told that it had always been like this! Simply wonderful.

Nestled in the lush green surroundings are three excellent restaurants, each offering different menus and dining experiences every evening.

The enormous beachfront swimming pool blends beautifully into the architecture and landscape, almost as if it were part of nature itself. There is also a second, equally impressive pool reserved for adults. Although the resort is not adults-only, children are present in a very discreet way and never disturb the peaceful atmosphere. We often choose destinations far away specifically for this reason, but here there is absolutely no need to worry about it.

The resort offers an impressive range of facilities and activities, from billiards and bars to all the services you could wish for on the beach.

And then, a special note about the staff. Everyone was exceptionally attentive, friendly and accommodating, both during meals and throughout the day by the beach and pools. Sun loungers and towels were always readily available. The gym is modern, extremely well equipped and spotless, and a golf cart service is available 24 hours a day.

Housekeeping deserves a special mention too. The rooms are serviced with remarkable attention to detail, from the beautifully arranged towels — there seem to be an endless number of them! — to the amenities, which are always perfectly replenished and arranged.

The gardens and vegetation throughout the resort are maintained beautifully. The pathways are immaculate, with not a leaf out of place, and the plants and trees are perfectly cared for.

There is also a welcoming and beautifully designed spa offering a wide range of treatments, including treatments available on the beach.

And finally, Manuel, the General Manager, deserves a special mention. He personally welcomed us and made a point of seeing us every day, always stopping for a greeting or a kind word. He is always present without ever being intrusive, and it was truly special to experience such a warm and familiar atmosphere. The staff even greeted us by name every single day.

We are genuinely grateful to have been welcomed into such a beautiful place. We are leaving with the feeling that Garrya could very easily become a possible “second home” for us.

We stayed for 7 nights in the resort. They create such an welcoming atmosphere. The lovely staff remembers your name when you visit the breakfast and they remember the coffee you’d like to drink. Besides this, the rooms are really spacious with good beds and a variety of pillows you can choose from. This is important to us when we go on holiday and our expectations are exceeded! Me and my husband went to Tongsai Bay Samui for our Honeymoon and we had the best time! Location and atmosphere was calm and the bay + own beach really made the difference. Our room was by the pools and was very spacious for two people, and the turndown service kept it pristine. A big plus for us was that water was included and we didn’t have to worry about buying bulks of it elsewhere. For our honeymoon we wanted to stay at a place where we could get all the services from one place to make our stay more calm and luxurious - and Tongsai Bay offered just that: food, bar, spa, activities and even laundry all in one place. A special thank you for the amazingly kind staff, who greeted us by our names, gave us tips and laughed with us. And a shoutout to the amazing breakfast, we’ve never had that much mango in one week! We would recommend trying Thai boxing and the wine and dine by a visiting chef. We think Tongsai Bay would be perfect for other honeymooners, or families looking for convenience and safety. We will definitely be back for an anniversary!
