The drive from Denpasar to the hotel takes about 40 min, while the journey from Bali International Airport to the hotel takes approximately 50 minutes. All rooms open onto a large infinity-edge swimming pool set in a lush tropical garden which offers great view of a forested ravine and a river. All the rooms have all the comforts expected of a hotel in its class. Guests can participate in activities such as jogging and cycling around the village. Breakfast is offered. Fantastic Family stay at Viceroy Bali
Nestled in Bali’s cultural heart of Ubud, Viceroy Bali is a boutique luxury retreat that feels wonderfully secluded while remaining just minutes from the town’s vibrant cafés, galleries and boutiques. Family owned and perched above the breathtaking Petanu River Valley, the resort is renowned for its spectacular jungle setting, warm Balinese hospitality and collection of private pool villas, making it one of the island’s most exclusive escapes.
Our stay in The Viceroy Villa was nothing short of exceptional. This expansive two bedroom residence offered everything we could have wished for as a family. Floor to ceiling windows framed uninterrupted views across the lush river valley, while the enormous private swimming pool was a tranquil sanctuary for our family. It’s our second time staying at the decadent villa and after the recent refurbishment it’s more luxurious than ever. Evenings were spent soaking in the jacuzzi or gathering around the outdoor fire pit as the sounds of the rainforest created an atmosphere that felt both peaceful and incredibly luxurious. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered, while our butler ensured every request was handled with genuine warmth and impeccable attention throughout our stay.
Beyond the villa, the facilities are equally impressive. We loved relaxing beside the resort’s elegant main infinity pool overlooking the valley, while the fully equipped fitness centre and squash court made it easy to stay active. The award winning Akoya Spa provided one of the highlights of our stay, offering beautifully designed treatment rooms and a tranquil setting that perfectly complements the surrounding nature.
Dining was another standout experience. Each morning began with an outstanding à la carte breakfast at Cascades, where beautifully presented dishes were served alongside panoramic jungle views. One evening we enjoyed an unforgettable degustation dinner at Apéritif, the resort’s acclaimed fine dining restaurant, where creative tasting menus paired European techniques with Indonesian flavours in an elegant Art Deco setting.
Combining extraordinary accommodation, outstanding dining, exceptional wellness facilities and heartfelt service, Viceroy Bali delivers an experience that feels both intimate and indulgent. It is the perfect choice for travellers seeking refined luxury immersed in the natural beauty of Ubud, and a resort we would happily return to again and again.

Incredible service and hotel at the Viceroy
We stayed at the Viceroy for 7 nights to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
First impressions of the hotel are very impressive. We booked a deluxe terrace room which has been renovated recently. The best feature of the room is the huge heated infinity pool which over looks the valley and jungle.
The service at this hotel is impeccable. The food is incredible and always arrives on time and the staff are so attentive.
We would like to specially thank Wiaata the hotel driver who took us on all of our excursions. He was so polite and knowledgable and gave us lots of good advice on what to see and when.
We had 3 massages each at the spa. My wife’s masseuse, Astee, was amazing and would like to thank her for the treatments.
Overall it is a beautiful boutique hotel in a wonderful location to see all of Ubud has to offer. I’m sure we will be back again one day!

Excellent experience with family in Ubud
It was our first time in Bali and we had a Fantastic time at the Viceroy. The staff was super attentive, the room was great (we had the 2 bedroom suite), and the facilities were fantastic. Our two kids had some allergies but the hotel was super careful and ensured that our children were safe while enjoying as much of the food as possible. We also used their driver for a tour around the Ubud area (rice terrace, volcano etc) and the guide/driver was knowledgeable, accommodating and very personable. Highly recommend this place.
Exceptional Hotel
The Viceroy hotel in Bali is a truly sensational hotel. I have been lucky enough to stay is some fabulous hotels but the Viceroy pips them all. It is the perfect mix. I bought my 18 year old daughter away for a special trip just the two of us & we started our adventure at the Viceroy. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The facilities, villas, decor, ambiance, food & most particularly the staff were amazing. They know everyone by name & seem to know what you want or need before you even know yourself! Every last detail is considered & there was nothing I could suggest to improve.
All the staff were brilliant but special mention must go to Tomas & his team from the Aperitif restaurant. Tomas helped us enjoy a very special night at the fine dining restaurant- a place you do not expect to find in Bali. Both the food & service, in my opinion, rival any fine dining/Michelin restaurant. We mentioned to Tomas that my daughter was visiting Prague in a few weeks & the next day he put together a Prague guide for her. So kind. This hotel is truly exceptional. I like to visit new places & rarely return to a hotel but this is certainly the exception. I will definitely be returning.
