Top spot in Ubud! Amazing location and so peaceful. The rice plantation has a beautiful story, and the rooms are top quality. Carlie, who took care of us, was an absolute superstar and so much fun. The Balinese massage at the spa is the best therapy around. DO NOT MISS the Valrona chocolate mousse by chef Dean delicious and beautifully reimagined! Made, our driver, took us around and knew everything. Thanks to everyone!
A wonderful resort We were treated like royalty by the team and enjoyed the extras Namely hot air balloon, massage and the rice paddle tour
We recently enjoyed a four night stay at the Tanah Gajah in Ubud. It is a beautiful hotel with stunning grounds and a lovely tranquil ambience. The staff are amazing, so friendly, attentive and helpful. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, complete with a free mini bar, coffee machine, fresh fruit and treats daily etc. which was delightful. The rooms and grounds are kept spotlessly clean and the whole place offered a serene environment. While we were there we watched a Kecak Fire and Dance performance (extra payment required) which was stunning and not to be missed. We also availed ourselves of the (free) afternoon tea and cakes which were very nicely prepared and presented. My wife has an egg allergy which meant that the she was unable to eat the normal offerings so the staff, notably Carlie, arranged for egg free alternatives to be made available throughout our stay. Thank you Carlie! Apart from one evening we ate at the hotel's restaurant, The Tempayan, which is beautifully located overlooking the rice fields that are part of the hotel grounds. Overseen by Chef Dean, with an amazing team of people including Katut, Nopi, Ayu, Darma, Edi and Dayu, we were made to feel so welcome and the food and service were all impeccable. Both my wife and I had some quite challenging dietary requirements and the staff, and particularly Chef Dean, went out of their way to assist us with these and to accommodate our needs. Another huge thank you to them all! On one day we booked a short excursion to a local temple and Ubud itself (the hotel does offer a free shuttle service throughout the day if you just want to go into Ubud). Our driver, Madi, was great. Very friendly, knowledgeable, informative and flexible. Other staff that made our stay memorable were Pasek (resort manager), Young (customer relations) and Lally (reception). However, as previously mentioned, all of the staff at the Tanah Gajah are brilliant but unfortunately it is hard to keep a note of everyone's names. So apologies to those that we have missed, you all deserve a mention! If we do manage to visit Bali again in the future we would not hesitate to stay at the Tanah Gajah again. Highly recommended.
This was my first trip to Bali and this place was the absolute BEST!!! The customer service and accommodations were amazing and both my sister and I plan on returning!! So grateful we stayed here!!!
