The Samaya Seminyak

Each room is a Villa! It is a full apartment with a private pool and pool furniture! Amazing! Brought us to a new level of elegance, complete with Butlers! Kris was the best of the Butlers, and was so helpful and fun always. Lovely location at the sea, especially the Breeze restaurant for breakfast and dinner. However, they need more staff as waiting an hour from ordering to receiving the food was most irritating. In that respect, the restaurant service was lousy. Drinks came quickly, but food didn't come for an inordinate amount of time.

We stayed four nights in a one bedroom villa in the main compound, and it was amazing.

We were welcomed by Karmaya and his team from the start, and every single member of the team, from butlers, housekeeping, reception, and restaurant staff were very warm and attentive. We felt thoroughly taken care of during our stay. They graciously checked us in early, and offered a late checkout.

The best aspects of Samaya are the direct beach access and view (the restaurant Breeze has superb views, and they have deck chairs lined up facing the beach), and the tranquility - it's an all villa resort so the deck chairs, cabanas, and main swimming pools never get crowded.

I would recommend getting a villa at the main resort if you want easy access to the beach and beach views. Go for the courtyard villas only if you need more space (they're quite a bit bigger) and even more privacy. But note that the courtyard area is a 5 min buggy or 8 min walk away, and only has a swimming pool, gym, and satellite restaurant.

The villa was amazing and very spacious, with a huge bathroom. The bathroom has an indoor shower, outdoor shower, and jacuzzi. The swimming pool is a decent size for two. All the TVs have Netflix, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime. Both the living room and outdoor patios had very comfortable sofa beds. The king size bed in the bedroom was lovely. The villa comes with all the usual amenities, though we wished Samaya provided comfortable bedroom slippers, rather than just (somewhat) hard sandals.

As for the other facilities, the gym is well equipped and maintained, but is in the courtyard part of the resort. The spa is superb, with treatment tables facing the beach.

The food at Breeze restaurant was excellent. We had a decadent breakfast - all freshly made to order. We highly recommend the Indonesian options! The villas come with a complimentary afternoon tea, which was very enjoyable even if not spectacular.

We would certainly consider returning to Samaya!
