The Perfect Couples’ Vacation
Our stay at Secrets Akumal was truly unforgettable and exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by natural beauty, warmth, and exceptional hospitality.
We enjoyed two beautiful rooms during our stay. Our first, in Building 9C, offered a charming balcony with distant ocean views framed by lush jungle. Our second, in Building 3, Preferred Club, was simply breathtaking, with spectacular ocean views and a private jacuzzi on the balcony. Both rooms were immaculate and thoughtfully serviced twice daily, creating a level of comfort that truly felt like home.
What touched us most was the extraordinary staff. Five stars hardly seem enough. Their genuine smiles, kindness, and warmth reflect the beautiful Caribbean and Latin spirit. Every person made us feel welcomed, valued, and part of a family, turning our stay into something truly special.
The culinary experience was exceptional. Every restaurant and bar was remarkable, with such variety and quality that choosing a favorite was nearly impossible. After six days, we still hadn’t had the opportunity to experience everything.
For anyone seeking relaxation, romance, adventure, and unforgettable moments, Secrets Akumal is a destination where everything comes together beautifully—from exquisite dining and breathtaking surroundings to daily activities, live music, and entertainment.
We left with our hearts full, wonderful memories, and one beautiful certainty: we will return.
Phenomenal
This place is phenomenal in every way. Stunning, luxurious, quiet & you just feel like royalty the entire time you are there. Cleanest & most beautiful resort we have ever stayed at & we have stayed as some very high end resorts so that’s saying a lot. Antonio in particular was amazing & checked up on us every day & made sure our stay was absolutely perfect!! He was so kind & informative & we really enjoyed talking with him. Thank you so much Antonio & to ALL of the staff at secrets Akumal! We will be back hopefully soon!
10/10 Stay at Secrets Akumal – Amazing Experience & Great Service!
We had an amazing 11-night stay at Secrets Akumal in August! From start to finish, we felt like VIPs with the highest status, even without having any hotel status. The service was incredible, and having premium alcohol included with so many choices was a great bonus!
A huge shoutout to the entertainment team — Oscar for the bike tour, Sinai & Arantxa for pool basketball, Erick for beach volleyball, and Raul, Alan & Mel for keeping us entertained throughout our stay.
Ricardo at the Infinity Pool always made sure we had drinks, and David at Bordeaux provided fantastic service.
Most importantly, a very special thank you to Gina, our concierge, who checked in with us every day, gave us amazing recommendations, and went above and beyond throughout our entire trip.
We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% return!

The best vacation ive ever had because the staff made it that way!!
Amazing stay, could not reccomend this place more! They truly care if you have a good time and want to do what they can to help you relax! I hope you are lucky enough to get Metz as your concierge as she was AMAZING, and blew us away with how on the ball she was and how much she cared! Ari was the absolute best as well, she hosted blackjack in the pool and a a few other events and was just so fun and she taught us Spanish while playing and made our stay super enjoyable!
Our top resort
Our 2nd time and an amazing experience again. This is our favorite resort. The staff and service are second to none. The property is beautifully maintained. The restaurants were incredible, we highly enjoyed the ribeye and mashed potatoes at Seaside and the sushi at Himitisu. The pizza at the pool was incredible! The activities staff is next level and so much fun.
A shoutout to a few of our favorite staff members: Tony, Lucy, Alen, Cena, Gabriella-prefered bar, Sergio, Armando, Henry, Alejandro, Jose, Felipe, Leidy. Thank you for making this trip an amazing one!
