- Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya

Bordered by a private white sand beach and lush tropical landscapes, this decadent luxury resort pulls out all the stops for an unreal holiday for families and couples alike. The resort is situated near Playa del Carmen on the Mayan Riviera, less than 50 kilometres from the pre-Colombian Mayan ruins of Tulum. Visitors will have many opportunities to explore the area with excursions to Tulum and Chichen-Itza archaeological sites, and can swim with dolphins or even tour the Hard Rock sister hotel in Cancun. Each room offers generous proportions, a hydro spa bathtub, private balcony, and a range of state-of-the-art amenities, all decorated with vibrant colours and textures. Guests will delight in the private beach, children's pool and family pool, and the resort also offers a sophisticated and opulent adults-only hotel with four pools, nine imaginative restaurants and six lavish bars exclusively for adults.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We love HRRM. This was our second time at this Hard Rock Resort and probably our favorite. The resort itself is quite large, there is tons of stuff to do. The shows were fantastic. We really enjoyed the Queen show, the performer was fantastic energy! But really all of the shows were great. The pool activities were always fun, Danny Girl was fun with water aerobics and trivia in the pool. The restaurants were also delicious, we loved los gallos (tacos in all ways), la petit cochon was delicious, and the market and Isla always had something good. Our Butlers Emmanuel and Daniel made the trip so perfect. Can't thank them enough. Super enjoyable trip with 8 people. We will be back!
The queen show was an amazing experience. I had a lot of fun attending the show.
Our family had a great time at the Hard Rock Rivera Maya. A few of the employees stood out and went above and beyond to make our experience amazing… Carmelo from pool entertainment made sure we were situated and happy every day. Esmero kept our drinks full and flowing for two days at the pool and Max at the pool bar was awesome with keeping up with the long lines and constant requests from adults and kids. In general the staff was accommodating and happy which made the trip pleasant.
It is a large property with good amenities. The rooms need updating. I feel it unnecessary and a waste of space to have a tub inside the room. It's definitely not soundproof. Most of the areas had leaking ceilings, and there was an awful sewage smell. On one of the days, there was a power outage twice. I was not impressed with the restaurant selection and menu. They said no reservations were needed, yet once at the restaurant, there was a 30-minute to an hour wait.
The room service food was not the same quality as the one in the restaurant or buffet. Pool areas were fine, mostly well-kept. We went bowling, and it is an additional cost. They require socks and sold cheap socks for $6. Yet I saw people putting shoes on with no socks. The arcade was not free, and they charged $2 for a reloadable card, which is ridiculous as it is needed to use the machines. Shops were ridiculously overpriced. The price charged is not justifiable.
Hard rock hotel was a 10/10 experience. The rooms are big and clean, the pools are clean and plenty of things to do on this big resort!!! Big shoutout to entertainment team especially Giggie and Hector making our stay extra special and extra fun! Great vacation and would recommend for families with littles or for adults only as well!☀️
