We enjoyed the resort very much. Al a carte especially good food and drinks. Our breakfast waiter Marcial Tun was especially friendly and ensured we all got our coffee preferences each morning! The hard-working pool bar staff were excellent also, tirelessly taking orders all day. Wildlife was great around the resort but I worry for their future due to tourists hand feeding them
Overall, we did enjoy our stay at the Grand Sirenis, but there is room for improvement.
The + points:
-The golf buggys are convenient and we should have used them more often! -The Tui staff were friendly and professional.
The - points:
-Salt and pepper would be good on the tables, as we had to keep looking for them. -The wheelchair we borrowed during our stay was rusty and could do with being replaced. -Some of the staff were miserable and did not engage with customers at all. Even if they don't speak English, a smile goes a long way. -A 5* hotel would have better toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body cream) etc... the toiletries in the bathroom were not high end and were disappointing. -Animals by the pool were grabbing people's bags looking for food, jumping on people's sunbeds and we were not fans of them.
Such a well thought out resort that left us not wanting to leave after 11 nights. We went as a family with a 1.5 year old and I was expecting it to be a challenge but it was absolutely amazing and so chilled. We booked for 2026 as soon as we returned home.
Although it is a family hotel, it is not over run with children so I would also recommend for couples.
We went at the end of November, into December so we’re there for the Christmas light turn on which was just incredible. I would recommend this time of year as the weather is great, no seaweed issues and you get the Christmas feeling in the sun!
We enjoy going out for nice food and drinks and Grand Sirenis did not disappoint. Our favourite Al a Carte was the teppanyaki, the chef was great, the food tasted amazing and it was a lovely experience. Although I wasn’t the biggest fan of the mains in the Peruvian restaurant (could be personal taste) I do recommend the starters and cocktails there; I would go back just for them! The buffet was also great. So much choice, lots of fresh food, great table service. Lunch is particularly impressive.
There are so many things I could mention; the proper coffee shops, the lazy river, the beach bbq, the children’s water slides, the beautiful pools, the white party/fire show, the bars, the health bar, the amazing musicians in the bars/lobby, gorgeous cocktails and how incredibly clean it was but I really can’t do it justice. Please just book and experience it yourself.
I am writing a very honest review so here are some points which could have been better. It took hours to get a crib/cot even though I had emailed in advance but we got one and it was great for my little one. The rooms aren’t 5* but they are modern, very clean and we were very happy with it. Everything else completely outweighs this point because at worst they are more like 4*. There is a lot of bird poo on the theatre seats but it’s open air so I’m not sure how this can be solved; we just turned the seat cushion around. We couldn’t get a high chair at the street food restaurant on my birthday as they were all taken which made it very difficult to eat and enjoy our meal (but I didn’t let it ruin things because these things happen sometimes). I will counter to say we never had that issue at any other restaurant or time and the staff were quick to bring one each time.
I will finish with a few more positives though. I emailed in advance with my room preferences and the hotel accommodated them perfectly. The wildlife are just amazing - monkeys, coatis, iguanas, raccoons, cats, pacas and beautiful fish. We were so looked after and the staff really made a fuss of my little boy. The staff are incredible so please tip them.
We will see you again in November Grand Sirenis ❤️
Alan at the mixology bar was amazing his drinks are just spectacular. He puts on such a great show and is so kind and generous. We are here for 2 weeks and for the past week every evening we have headed down to the cocktail bar. I 100% recommend visiting when you are here and especially when Alan is working if you want to try some truly amazing flavours and chat to a friendly face.
Really good experience! The food was really good and so was the vibe! Our chef Omar was excellent!
