Sensira Resort and Spa Riviera Maya

Sensira has been great! Danny boy Diaz in the lobby bar is fantastic he makes great drinks and super friendly. Would love to write more but enjoying my time here right now. Several other people stood out too! I will try to update the review later.

We travelled as a family group of nine with our daughters,son in laws and 3 children aged 8,9 and 10. We really enjoyed the resort and had a great family vacation. I will break down my review to make it easier.

Location: close to Cancun airport, about 25 min away. Close to Puerto Morelos. We took an uber there to shop. It was a lot cheaper than a taxi.

Beach and pools: main lower pool with swim up bar was awesome. Lots of activities and the kids loved ordering their own special drinks from the kids drink menu. I suggest the kids take arm floats and floaties to lounge on as the pools are deep for the little ones. The kids pool was closed for 5 Days of our stay which was disappointing but they had fun when it was open. The infinity pool was also closed for Most of our stay which was unfortunate as we enjoyed it for the few days we had in there. None of the pools are heated so they can be cool. Especially the adult only pool. No problem getting a cabana on the adult only side. There was always space. Unfortunately there was a lot of sargassam at the beach the whole time we were there and the water was very brown. The staff kept the beach as clear as possible but it did smell at times at the beach area. Rooms: we booked the Ruby suite. The room was spacious and beautiful. Well worth the upgrade. It had a large balcony with wrap around deck with chairs and a table as well as 2 loungers. Bed was comfortable with a pop up tv at the end. Shower was huge but had only one rain shower head. We would have liked more jets and a stool or bench to shave your legs. The room came with access to the amber lounge where we checked in and out as well as butler service. We have had concierge or butler service in many other resorts and always found it to be a lacklustre service BUT this resort really excelled in this area. Our butlers, Sandy, Gabriella and Andrea were amazing. They communicated via what’s app. They looked after our every need ordering room service for us, Booking dinner reservations and kept us up to date with all the resort activities. We want to thank them for their excellent service. We used the feature to choose our room ahead of time and got the room we wanted. Room 279. It was in a quiet area with a great view. Food: they only open 2 Restaurants each evening. Maybe because it is the slow season. The buffet was good with lots of choices. They have a grill to order omelettes for breakfast and meat and fish to order at lunch and the nights they were open. The other Restaurants were all good. Not fancy food but good. The Kids like the Rodeo. It can be very loud with the bull riding but three of our family tried this out and had a blast. It is a fun place. The food service mangers Daniel and the head manager were constantly checking in to see if you needed anything or had any feedback on the meals. They really care what you think of the food. Staff: the staff here are all amazingly hard workers. This is where the hotel really shines. Great customer service. Shout out to: Eva in the buffet for the fabulous lattes and great smile Jose Luis in the pool bar. He remembered all our drink orders after a day and custom created new things for us to try. He was awesome with the kids. Diaz(Danny Boy) at the lobby bar. Created great special drinks for us, really looked after us and the kids. Julia at the lobby bar. Great service and always a smile. The hotel was very clean everywhere.

The kids loved the pools, zip line, movie theatre, ping pong and fuss ball and trampoline area. I do think this resort really caters to young children. Those over 11 might be bored.

Overall it was a Great family vacation.

Room was not cleaned or towels replaced until we requested it FIVE different times The excuse was the do not disturb sign was out, yet our fridge was restocked??!! Once the management was aware of it, the room was as it should be. But who wants the hassle???. Food is low end average at buffet but al a carte are very good!!, Some staff are great but the rude ones drag it down! Bricks and mortar are beautiful, beach is good, landscaping is very nice. Our benchmarks are Iberostars and Moon Palace.
