We are double black members so some of this review reflects that. We booked here because it was cheep as it just opened last fall. The hotel was about 30% capacity. In our welcome email we asked for the top floor and also said we where celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We did not get the floor or area we asked for and nothing was done about aur anniversary. Members are supposed to get flip flops, hats and chocolate in the room but we didn't. this was out 9th iberostar trip since 2019 and this is the only hotel that won't let you take your members wine bottle from dinner back to your room. They said they dump the rest out. We ate at the spanish restaurant and after 45 minutes with no water or drinks refilled they brought me out a raw steak and it was ordered medium so we went to goto the buffet but is was not open for dinner. At the buffet foods are not kept at proper temperatures and they just put the serving utensils right it the fruit bowls so everyone's germs can be added in. Elizabeth from star prestige is not helpful and lies. We left after 3 days and another family of 4 left the day after we did.

Iberostar Club Black Members Review
We decided to try this resort because of the great price. We usually stay at Joia. We knew there was not a beach because of the seaweed but we were not prepared for the smell. We had a corner, ocean front balcony suite that was gorgeous. But, at times we couldn't be out there due to the smell. We know the hotel can't help this. I am writing a book and was able to be out there for several days. The resort is beautiful, the staff is exceptional and the food was great except for the Caribbean restaurant.
The one thing that was a real disappointment to me was to not be able to have coffee delivered to the room early in the morning. I was up early working on a book and had counted on having good coffee. The coffee service in the room is not good and there isnt' cream or anything to go with it. Yes, the cafe offers coffee in the lobby but I was not expecting room service to not open until 11. So, to all the other coffee drinkers just know this before you go.
But, as always the Iberostar staff was exceptional. Laura at Star Prestige was incredible and checking on us often. The pools are great and Mauricio at the Members pool went over and beyond. He even brought us ice cream one day without us asking.
This is a family resort. It was very quiet while we where there this past week. We didn't see the shows because they were outside and it was just too hot.
All in all we had a great trip with just a few minor things that I mentioned above.

Excellent resort and vacation!
My husband and I had a great time at the Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun. The resort was at about 15% capacity during our week. It was very quiet. We chose to enjoy the quiet pool for the majority of our stay. There were days that we were the only people there or maybe a couple other people. We loved it! The resort is very well maintained. Beautiful grounds! The beach was not accessible due to the sargassum. We knew this going into the trip and we were okay with it. We knew it was going to be a pool vacation. The food was excellent! We have been to several all inclusive resorts and we really enjoyed the food. We ate at the Spanish restaurant, Mexican (twice), Italian and the buffet. Not all of the restaurants were open each night. We had Jesus as a server at the Mexican and Italian place. He was incredible! Such a kind man and loved to bring us other dishes for us to try out. Javier and Roman were fantastic at the buffet and the pop-up lunch spots. Javier made me a special coffee every morning and it was the best coffee! Cristina helped get us checked in and gave us a tour of the resort. The service was great! We also met a hostess (I can't recall her name) but she was so sweet and kind. It's definitely a quieter resort and not a party atmosphere. We will definitely be back to this Iberostar!

Iberostar Club Level Black Members
We have just completed a 5 day stay at this resort. We knew before we came there was no beach. What we weren’t prepared for was the smell of the seaweed. We had an ocean front corner suite with a huge balcony. It was lovely and comfortable. We usually stay at Joia but due to the great rates we decided to give it a try. We loved our room.
As always EVERY SINGLE Iberostar staff member was incredible!!
We thought the food was great at the buffet and loved the Italian restaurant. We also had a great pizza at the outdoor pizza restaurant.
Star Prestige was excellent and every staff member went over the top to help us.
The members only pool was excellent and again the staff over the top. Mauricius even brought us banana splits one day without asking us.
I gave this a 4 star review for a few reasons. I am here working on a book and planned to be up early having coffee delivered to work on my book. There is NO room service before 11. The in room coffee is just not good. Yes.. there is a 24 hr cafe for coffee but it’s in the lobby.
The area for the shows was too uncomfortable to watch the shows. It was just too hot.
Overall it’s a great family resort and we had a relaxing time. I just wish I had known about the coffee situation before we arrived.. maybe this review will help the other coffee lovers out there. 😊
Don’t hesitate to try this resort !!! Highly recommend the corner suite with the huge balcony!!!

Sexist and racist.
Here now and I have to say that the basic pool bar has a bloody major issue with white women. Me and another lady stood by the bar for ten mins and Latino men were coming after us, men and women and they were served immediately. The other white woman gave up. I sent my husband and he got served straight up. Went back later and another white woman and I were waiting. No customers and one of the barmen looked at me and turned and walked away and stood on the stairs. A bloke who looked Latino rocked up and he walked down and served him. It’s either sexist or racist, or I suspect both, but I will never come here again. And I suggest if you’re white you don’t either. These days you’d think sexism and racism would be no issue. It seems here it is. They need some serious training. Disgusting behaviour.
