Worst all inclusive experience I've ever had.
The only positives about this resort is that the rooms were clean and the beach was nice. The cons: The mini frig consisted of 6 soft drinks. We were informed if we drank all of those we would be charged. The "reservation required" restaurants were very low quality. Only low end alcohol available. Modelo was the only beer, even Corona was considered a specialty?! Everything seemed as if they were doing it as cheaply as possible. The only good restaurant is the buffet. Lots of kids, lots of noise at night. Phone was broken in the room, Leak in the ceiling, smoke detector going off at night. Harassed multiple times by the front desk staff to do some nonsense time share thing to get a discount on excursions. This is a poor excuse for an all inclusive resort.

Great location and a fantastic hotel
This hotel in Playacar is in a fantastic location. A slightly smaller hotel in the vicinity compared to the huge RIU hotels but our preference as it felt more intimate. The area feels very safe and local neighbourhood is very pleasant. Located on the beautiful Caribbean, it was a perfect choice for us. Check in was smooth and welcoming and we were accommodated in a spacious and clean room on the top floor of block 4. First impressions were impressive. The grounds of this hotel are spectacular. We really enjoyed seeing the wildlife everyday and the calmness walking around the hotel. The pools were great and beach area kept very clean. There was a little seaweed at times washed up but this was not an issue at all. The facilities available at this hotel were great. I used the hotel gym many times early in the morning, although small, it is perfectly good enough for a workout. Spa was excellent and Laura was amazing at reflexology. Three restaurants at the hotel. The main buffet was welcoming with different seating areas outside or inside for air conditioning. I loved having breakfast outside looking at the Caribbean metres away. Both the Mexican and Italian restaurants were great and the service amazing and friendly. A big shout out to Mary who looked after us in the main restaurant, always smiling and making sure we had drinks with our dinner. Only a couple of minor issues. Firstly, at times the bars outside would run out of glasses during the day which was a pain. Second issue was no coffee in the room which would have been nice. This did not spoil what was a fantastic trip to Mexico and I hope to return to the Reef very soon.

Great Massage with Laura in Ome.
The Ome Spa has a masseuse named Laura and she gave me the best deep tissue massage that I have ever had and trust me, I’ve had a lot of massages over the years. The spa was clean, and the staff are amazing.
