A nice trip to Maroma Beach
This is a very nice resort. There is currently some construction on property that will provide upgrades to pool and restaurant experiences. The staff is very profession and helpful throughout the resort.

Wat better than Joia Paraiso.
Fantastic resort. Better Tha Joia Paraiso, Secrets Tides in PC, Excellence or Live Aqua in PC. Quality comparable to Zilara PC but I liked Secrets Maroma more. Fantastic food you could serve in a restaurant in West Loop Chicago or Brooklyn NY. Night taco stand had one of the best tacos in my life. Planning to come back soon.

9 Trips… and We Still Love Coming Back!
We just returned from our ninth trip to Secrets Maroma Beach, and we had another great week! The beach is beautiful, the resort is gorgeous, and we love the relaxed atmosphere. But when people ask why we keep coming back to the same resort, the answer is simple: the people!
After nine visits, we’ve gotten to know so many of the staff members. Seeing familiar faces, catching up, and feeling welcomed every time makes it feel like we’re coming back to visit friends.
Great to See Our Friends Again! Bramdon, it was great seeing you again! We always enjoy catching up with you. Eddy, it was wonderful seeing you, too! These friendships are a big part of what makes our trips so special. Francia, our building concierge, thank you for all your help during the week!
Our Pool Crew: A big thank-you to our pool concierges, Edy, Manuel, Maricio, Jose, and Hugo; bartenders, Arturo, Juan, Valentin, and Angel; and pool bar servers, Marvin, Isamar, Carrera, Ana, Edner, Dario, and Wilber. We spend plenty of time by the pool, and you all help make those days relaxing and enjoyable. It’s always nice to see familiar faces and catch up!
Coffee Shop, Lobby, and Front Desk Thank you to Alejandro and Clary at the coffee shop and Carmen and Clary in the lobby. We enjoyed seeing you and chatting throughout the week—and the coffee is great, too!

A special mention to Hector in management, who talked with my husband at the pool about why we continue to return to Secrets Maroma Beach. He listened and even took notes. We thought that was really nice and appreciated his interest in hearing directly from a returning guest.
The answer? It’s the staff and their hospitality that keep us coming back. We appreciated Hector taking the time to listen!
Construction During Our Stay Construction was underway for some of the restaurants and the new pool addition, but we were pleasantly surprised by how well everything was managed. The construction areas were well concealed, and the work had no negative impact on our vacation. We were able to enjoy our week as usual and look forward to seeing the finished additions on a future visit.
Room Service Was AWESOME! A huge shout-out to our room service team! Every morning at 4:00 a.m., we had a carafe of coffee in our room. As early risers, we really appreciated this thoughtful touch. It may seem like a small thing, but it made our mornings easier and did not go unnoticed. Thank you!
A Couple of Little Things It was great to have the menus back! We were happy to see them return.
Our one small suggestion would be to stock a few more bottles of water in the rooms. We like to stay hydrated, especially in the sun, and had to request extra water a couple of times. Having a few additional bottles available would be helpful. Just a friendly suggestion, as it certainly didn't take away from our overall experience.
Why We Keep Coming Back After nine visits, one thing that really stands out is how many of the same staff members we see year after year. That says a lot about Secrets Maroma Beach and its management.
We’ve stayed at other resorts where staff turnover seems much higher. Here, we get to see people we’ve known for years, catch up, and continue those friendships. It makes the resort feel like more than just a vacation spot; it feels like a place where we have friends.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Trip #9 another wonderful week. We truly appreciate the people who make this resort so special.

Maroma exceeded expectations
Maroma really surprised us . We knew it was a very well rated resort but it really exceeded all of our expectations. The service was really exceptional everywhere, from restaurants , the pool, room service, check in, preferred lounges and their amenities. It was so enjoyable that we weren't even bothered by the construction going on or the sargassum on the beach. Highly recommend this resort.

Didn’t live up to my expectations, but still nice
We booked this resort for our 10-year anniversary. It was a bit of a splurge for us in comparison to previous all inclusive stays we have taken over the years.
I had relatively high hopes for this resort based on the reviews I read and the research I did, and it unfortunately did not quite live up to our expectations — especially taking into account that we paid an extra $1k for this resort over other resorts we were looking into.
- Construction
We knew there would be construction during our stay, but that did not deter us. We consider ourselves somewhat low maintenance when it comes to things like this. We run our own businesses and know these types of scenarios are necessary for business growth and customer satisfaction. However, we were woken up multiple times our last two nights due to overnight construction right outside our building. This was especially disappointing as we have three small children at home and looked forward to the rejuvenation of sleeping through the night on this vacation.
- Beach / Ocean
I don’t fault the resort for this, but our visit during “offseason” did not allow for beach enjoyment. It was quite smelly and there was of course, seaweed. We likely won’t visit Cancun this time of year again now that we’ve experienced it.
- Customer Service
Customer service was top tier, as most all-inclusives are. I’ve never experienced a resort with poor customer service.
- Food
Food was incredible. No notes. Make sure to ask to be seated in Freddy’s section for buffet breakfast and lunch. He was our favorite!
- Entertainment
The fire show and the light show were very entertaining. 10/10.
- Sales Pitch
Do NOT say yes to the breakfast in exchange for spa money, or whatever else they might offer. This was our first time saying yes to something like this as we were told it would be 8-9:30am in exchange for $400 to the spa. We did not leave until after 11, wasting almost our entire first morning there.
