Excellent service and food in Momo Teppanyaki, the night was made by the brilliant staff Abner, Mario, Lezama & Juan
Dinner was delicious and the tiramisu is a must have. Manager Ricardo, Hostess Samira, Chef Leonel, and waiters Selene Selene, Petronilo and Fernando made our evening special.
The service and food at the Italian restaurant, Trattoria, are excellent. We tried the Italian Teppanaki our first night and it was an unforgettable experience with the chef making every course in front of us. Our waiter, Kevin, was attentive, personable, and accommodating. We returned for dinner today and we’re glad we did. Our server, Karina and Petrolino were attentive and the food—appetizer, entree, and dessert—were all very good. The seafood risotto and the tiramisu—assembled in front of you—were delicious. The manager, Ricardo, checked in with us to make sure everything was good.
We went to Playacar Palace Feb 2026. We are palace elite members that travel to many of the palace company resorts. We attended the members update meeting as they like to call it we call it the shark tank. You are always offered something in exchange for your 90 minute presentation yet it takes far longer. We agreed to go and we would be gifted one additional night to use a different resort that we named. We go to book our new reservation using the 1 free night.... We have no record of that sir we are sorry nothing we can do.... Palace has become the worst resorts awful sales staff and does not stand behind their word. We had several issues with the stay was well.. The food was subpar, no where near the previous years standard or options... and NO beach as well... I do not recommend giving palace a single $$ and we will use what we have remaining as members and NEVER return!! There are far more resorts and destinations as palace so look elsewhere.
My wife and I have been traveling to Playacar Palace once or twice a year for the past 15 years. It never fails to impress us!
This past year we went for a milestone birthday. On my birthday we had many celebrations, including a special dinner for friends at Madre Mia, hosted by Herlin, the manager. It was outstanding!
We were also fortunate to be there for the New Year's Eve part. If you have a chance, don't miss it! The entertainment, the food, the drinks -- all outstanding.
Playacar is a smaller resort (just over 200 rooms), which adds to its appeal for us. We don't want a Vegas-like trip; we want something relaxing and manageable.
While the location, restaurants, and amenities are great, the staff members are what keep us coming back to Playacar every year. When you go there, look for these amazing people!
Managers: Everyplace needs management that set the tone. It's no different at Playacar. Thank you to Benito, Herlin, Xeomara, Karen, Carmen, Daniel, Gilberto and so many more!
Bars: One of the reasons we visit is for the outstanding bar service. Check out the drinks from Roger, Ezekial, Raul and so many more.
Pool: It's hot outside, so the people who keep the drinks flowing are VERY important. Sylvia, Perla, Juliana, Daniela, Manuel, Carmen, Valentin, Carmelino and Pamela always kept the cold drinks flowing!
Restaurants: In addition to some of the managers named above, Israel and Elvia (in breakfast) and Miguel and Olivia (in Momo) always provided excellent service and food suggestions.
Special shout-outs! Thank you to Olivia for being everywhere and always making sure we had a wonderful table; Francsico, who always makes sure my room fridge has plenty of cold beer(!); Ignacio, Marvin and Ignacio Jr for always making sure that we had chairs near the pool/beach and that the umbrellas were in place.
Playacar has had a tough spring/early summer with the seaweed issues that are plaguing the Quintana Roo coast, but we are excited to return in November. The seaweed will be gone, and we know that we will again have a wonderful time in our "home away from home!"
