Perfect stay for our anniversary. (Even though my husband had the flu ) Went to the Mayan night organised by the wonderful Pilar. Food was excellent.steak cooked to perfection The Mayan dancers put on a wonderful show. Alberto attended to all our needs throughout the night ,in fact he had served us on many nights in the different restaurants . So helpful We would definitely recommend this show. And the matre de el capitano kept it all running smoothly.
What an amazing evening with Pilar hosting. Food was excellent and service was outstanding. The Mayan dancers were fabulous and learning about their culture was fascinating. The entire evening is a sensational experience and I would recommend doing this
We booked (my mother and I) the Mayan dinner experience, with Pilar (she was so helpful) and even made it more special as it was a birthday celebration. From 7 we were welcomed with a drink made from tequila (like tea) and then the show started Pilar explained all about the Mayan culture and was very informative, the dancing from the Mayan people was incredible, and defo worth a watch. The food was sensational (being a chef myself I can approve) Alberto was such a good waiter and get our drinks topped up, for sure I would recommend this to anyone. 100% worth and would do it again. Thank you Pilar (sorry if I spelt your name wrong)
Just got back from a four night stay over Fourth of July! My husband and I loved the pool vibe at the ‘party pool’… filled with lots of entertainment throughout the day, but not too rowdy! It is a good mix of people in their mid 30s to 50s. Met so many fun people there from all over the world. Entertainment team does a fantastic job of keeping people busy at the pool (you can sit back and watch or get involved. Totally up to you.). Foam party was SO fun!! Food was very good at the resort, but we are not food snobs. We loved that the resort was on the smaller side. Loved the wildlife running around, even inside the restaurants. The beach is gross, but we knew that ahead of time so was not that disappointing. Incredible value for the money! we would definitely go back again.!
BE AWARE OF YOUR PERSONAL ITEMS WITHIN YOUR ROOM!!!!
I never removed my Airpods from my room. No one has used my headphones other than me in my hotel room because 1. I have not been to the beach this entire time. 2. I never remove my headphones from the room due to the usage of them for work which can only be done inside.
They called over the walkie multiple times asking if my headphones had been found for 10-15 minutes.
Every time they no said no over the walkies to say they didn’t have them. Told them I’d be calling the police and they magically appeared. They wouldn’t tell me where on the beach they found them. Just said found them on the beach.
We’ve done excursions and only stay here to eat, work and sleep because the beaches are so full of sargassum and the pools are insanely hot (not refreshing at all on a 100 degree day)
However the eating is minimal considering the food is a complete hit or miss. I recommend the french restaurant over anywhere else.
After being visibly pissed off by the sheer condescending communication with the front desk guy who was rude as hell and then condescendingly told me “your welcome” as if he was doing me a favor by returning what was rightfully mine. Then asked me to fill out an entire report which I didn’t do because I’ve already wasted 20 minutes trying to figure out wtf is going on with my headphones.
There are cleaners and restockers who come into your unit regularly every single day, we didn’t have a door tag to tell them to not come in and when we asked for one upon check in they said it wasn’t necessary. Well clearly it is. We leave tomorrow and I will never return to this place. A waste of our time and so insanely boring unless you are someone who wants to do nothing but rot at the pool and eat subpar food.
