During our visit to Xcaret Park, we paid an additional supplement of approximately USD $75 per person for the Adrenalina speedboat experience.
Whilst I would like to commend both the captain and our guide, who were friendly, welcoming and professional throughout, the attraction itself was extremely underwhelming. The entire experience lasted only around 20 minutes from leaving the dock to returning, and it was considerably less exciting than the equivalent speedboat experience previously offered at Xavage. Given the premium price charged, we felt this represented very poor value for money.
We were also disappointed by the butterfly pavilion, which appeared sparse and contained very few butterflies compared with our previous visit.
Another recurring frustration was the park’s navigation. The maps are poorly designed and difficult to follow. We spent a considerable amount of time walking around trying to locate attractions, and we observed several other guests appearing equally confused, including couples openly arguing over directions. Better signage and clearer mapping would significantly improve the overall guest experience.
This is an eco-tourism park setup by a private group. It is very expensive and provides questionable value for the money. Add ons such as dolphin encounters are equally expensive. Pictures of the dolphin encounter are sold at astronomic prices over $200 for the package. One of the dolphin trainers during our encounter was a total jerk with pissy attitude. Restaurant buffet offerings were decent and end of the day show was good. Overall I do not recommend this venue/tourist trap.
Good place for couples like it
Loved the tours from xcaret! Both the xcaret and Chichen Itza tours were fun-filled days with plenty of activities, learning opportunities, and adventure!
The river was amazing. Also the Sealife experiences are very special.
