Great food, service, and downtown location!!
This was our second stay at this property, it’s the only resort we have returned to by our choice! The food is very good for an all inclusive and the service is great. Javier at Spice and Alex at the quiet pool bar are the best! Rooms are clean, spacious and have large jacuzzi tubs. The location is awesome, right in downtown Playa del Carmen, you can walk right out of the hotel and find shops, bars, restaurants, and anything you’re looking for. The only downside would be the beach, unfortunately there is not much beach and during the summer the sea weed is intense. We really like this property and will be back!
Great resort for a great price
Stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful time! Staff was great! I definitely didnt feel overwhelmed with any upselling like I saw in some reviews. There is usually a person in the lobby trying to talk to you about excursions but if you just say no and continue on there's no hounding. The in-house concierge team was very helpful with dinner, spa, and cabana reservations. I definitely recommend dinner reservations. Our food highlights were Pelicanos for any meal and Dolma for dinner. The only food let down was the cabana food menu, it's very limited. I recommend going to the little food hut by the pool for quick lunch if you're lounging. Speaking of the pool, there's a main lively pool with great entertainment and a fun foam party twice a week and a smaller one by the dolma restaurant that also has its own bar but a quieter crowd and no loud music. The beach isn't great in general, very small but my boyfriend what a fan of encases so didn't bother us. The water was very clear but it's a pretty rocky beach so I didn't go in too far and most of the time red flags were up anyways. You can also walk father down the beach for a better spot to swim..The pool was more than enough and I thought we would get tired of it but we never did! All in all, our experience was amazing and I would definitely return. Perfect mixture of romance and fun for a great price. If you like to party hard at night you'll have to go off resort because alcohol stops at midnight and there isn't a club here. But the 24 hour lounge gets very lively and that was enough for us.
Beach front hotel in the heart of Avenida Quinta area
We had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen. The biggest highlight is its location, location, location!
The resort sits right on the beach, yet the moment you step outside the property, you're in the heart of Playa del Carmen, just steps from Quinta Avenida—the iconic pedestrian street known for its shopping, cafés, bars, restaurants, and vibrant atmosphere. It's a great place to spend an afternoon or evening strolling around. The best part is that once you return to the resort, the energy of the city completely disappears. You'd never know the bustling streets are just outside the gates. Instead, you're welcomed back to peace, quiet, relaxation and FUN.
The accommodations are spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Two of our favorite spots were the 24-hour sports bar and enjoying breakfast each morning at the beachfront restaurant. The open-air lobby is also a popular gathering place, with live entertainment every evening during our stay.
What truly sets Hyatt Vivid apart is the staff. From the valet attendants and housekeeping team to the wait staff and management, everyone provides exceptional service with the genuine warmth and hospitality the Yucatán is known for. If you need anything during your stay, don't hesitate to let management know—they are genuinely committed to making sure every guest has a fantastic experience. Both Kevins deserve special recognition for going above and beyond to ensure guests receive outstanding service and have an unforgettable stay.
We would happily return and highly recommend Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen to anyone looking for a relaxing beachfront resort in an unbeatable location.

Good and bad.
Good if you want a party vibe and not a relaxing vibe. The food is ok but not awesome. The beach front is small and rocky. The service was good
Best 4th of July in Playa
This resort is so elegant. Food and entertainment was top tier. Beautiful pools. Adult only! Walking distance from shops. Will be back in 2027!
