Very nice resort, the hotel and food.
It was a nice hotel,. Food was perfect, a lot of variety. We were really surprised by gurgle with animals, such as coati.
Family friendly

A resort worth coming back to
We spent 6 nights at Catalonia Playa Maroma in mid-October with our family of four (2 adults and 2 kids), and overall, we had a wonderful stay!
What we loved most:
- The amazing staff. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. The waiters in the main restaurant were especially attentive and efficient, which made us feel really well taken care of throughout our stay.
- The food. We really enjoyed the variety and quality of the food. There was always something tasty to choose from, and the staff were very helpful when it came to finding gluten-free options, which we really appreciated.
- The beautiful beach and lush grounds. The beach is spectacular and shady, with white sand and plenty of palm trees. The whole resort feels green and tropical, with lots of beautiful shady spots. I especially loved the pathway through the jungle leading to the main restaurant.
- Housekeeping. Our room was cleaned twice a day, and we always had plenty of fresh towels. It might seem like a small detail, but when you’re travelling with two kids, these little things really make a difference!
- The à la carte restaurants. We tried several of the à la carte restaurants during our stay and really enjoyed them.
A couple of minor downsides:
- The air conditioning in our room was quite noisy, and the water pressure was rather weak.
- Flies and cockroaches in the restaurant. Unfortunately, we noticed flies and cockroaches in the restaurant during our stay. I would really appreciate it if the management could pay attention to this issue, as it’s an important detail when it comes to the overall dining experience. On a positive note, all the cutlery, plates, and glasses were clean, as were the tables and cloth napkins.
- Some of the pathways around the resort were quite bumpy, which made getting around with a stroller a little challenging.
That said, these were relatively minor issues and didn’t spoil our holiday. Some of them were probably more noticeable simply because we were travelling with young kids and a stroller.
Overall, we had a great stay. I would happily return to Catalonia Playa Maroma in the future and would definitely recommend it to others.

Surviving A week of Hell
Trying to survive a week from hell. The AC in our room is not operating properly. The management and staff are unwilling to fix the issue. It has been 26C in our room.
