Prime oceanfront beach and tbe best staff to greet and assist you at your stay.
A beautiful resort with the best, private beach in Cancun. Property that was once the “Camp David” for presidential retreats.
Having excellent staff to greet you upon arrival is assurance you are at a 5 star resort . Jimmy Francsico Solis is a wonderful bellman that will take care of you making sure your luggage arrives in your room promptly. He is knowledgeable about the resort, restaurants and area.
It is nice to have reliable, friendly staff at gorgeous Royal Sands!

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL
I WOULD’NT GO TO THIS HOTEL EVEN IF IT WAS A FREE TRIP! Doesn’t even deserve 1 star! Staff are rude and unhelpful! There’s no facilities to go for a drink after dinner! No bars other than the sports bar which after 8pm no children are allowed it. They say you can stay in the buffet and drink! We spent 3 evenings in the sports bar with a 15 year old and nothing was said then on the 4th evening, they kicked us out after they’d taken our food and drinks order! The staff were rude and laughing after telling us to leave. The staffs attitude absolutely stinks! Then we sat outside the bar waiting for our food after waiting for ages we went in to check and they said they cancelled the order!
We arrived here after a long flight, when we checked in they told us that we were staying in one room for one night and then had to move rooms the next day because of TIME SHARES which was never mentioned when we booked or at all leading up to our stay!
Food in the buffet is all cold and really bad! Breakfast is the only thing thats okay but even then it’s not hot!
No evening entertainment which what hotel doesn’t have entertainment especially a family friendly hotel!
The only thing that is nice is the pools they are lovely however the pool bars don't open until 11am which what the hell is that about!
It is definitely a hotel built for old people to be in their time share rooms 24/7
Exceptional service from Brenda – standard-setting hospitality!
We had an absolute standard-setting experience at the Royal Sands, and a massive part of that was thanks to our wonderful concierge, Brenda. From day one, Brenda was incredibly warm, polite, pleasant, and easy to talk to. She has a true gift for hospitality and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even had to ask! She got all of our dining reservations taken care of nice and early, ensuring we were able to eat everywhere we wanted without a single hitch. Her local knowledge and helpful information made planning our days effortless. What we appreciated most was her professionalism regarding resort packages and upgrades. While we understand concierges have options they are required to share, Brenda was never pushy. A simple, polite 'no thank you' was all it took—she respected our preferences immediately and never made us feel pressured to spend extra money or commit to anything we didn't want to do. Brenda’s genuine warmth, attentiveness, and perfect balance of service made our stay truly unforgettable. If you get the chance to work with her at the Royal Sands, you are in excellent hands!
Ps the way they decorated the room for my husband's birthday was beautiful! And the lamb at bistro and lasagna at trattoria were my favorite meals.
Not the way it used to b
Service by wait staff and employees as always was fantastic. The food in the last couple of years had gone completely down hill, as the reason we eat out at local restauraunts. The drinks are watered down. The beach was not kept up, seaweed was all over. We watched the tractors go across the resort to other resorts to rake and mulch the seaweed everyday but at the Sands they only did it once the whole week we were there. It's called the Royal.Sands not the Royal Seaweed.
what a lovely place
The Royal Resorts has always been a fantastic place to visit. The people, staff is the best you will find anywhere. They are friendly and accommodating. The place is extremely clean and there is always someone cleaning all day. The breakfast is fantastic. I do miss the hot waffles that we use to make. Overall, you will not find a more charming and relaxing place. The ocean could be calmer but that is the ocean, it does what it wants.
