Hyatt Zilara Cancun

We stayed here for a week at the end of September.  It was our first time at this resort, although we'd been to Mexico dozens of times. The resort was absolutely perfect.  Our 4th floor room was extremely spacious and had everything we needed.  The outlets at each nightstand allowed for charging of any device.  A night light automatically turned on around the base of the bed and the vanity if you swung your feet over the side of the bed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.  There were 2 bathrobes in the room and one was actually man-sized.  There is a drawer above the mini-fridge that gets stocked with snacks every day.  The patio door shut out any and all noise from the activity pool below.  The views from the bed, especially at sunrise, were breathtaking.

We ate in every restaurant; one meal was better than the next.  Our favorite was Bugambilia.  If you go there, don't miss having a Heath cocktail.  It's delicious, but not available anywhere else in the resort.   We went to the restaurant twice and were treated like family by Juan, our waiter, and Jovanna (sp?) the manager.  She drew a small picture for me to remember our trip.  Those two are the gold standard of employees.

All the bartenders and pool waiters were polite and accommodating.  I hate the idea that you have to pay to get a cabana around the pool (we've already paid enough!), but we always found available free loungers.  The pool staff was good about removing items from loungers that had been "saved" for too long. Whenever we passed an employee around the pool or in any part of the hotel, we were greeted.  Each and every one said hello and then put his hand over his heart during the greeting.  The first few times that happened, it seemed sincere and touching.  After that, the gesture seemed cult-like.  Stop it.

We can't wait to go back.

Raul, the bartender at the swim up bar was awesome!!! Great drinks and fun personality! Staff overall are very helpful and sweet.
