Great food, drinks, and service keep us coming back
This is our third trip in three years to Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun, and we are glad every time that we have come back! The food and drinks were excellent, staff friendly, and rooms/resort are very clean. We rented a cabana one day (highly recommended!) and Yerenia and Carmen took such good care of us!
Customer service was great - one example is that the room above ours had a water issue which caused leaking into our bathroom, and staff immediately sent up maintenance and when they realized it required a longer fix, they quickly moved us to new, upgraded room.
My husband played golf twice and loves the course. I used the gym almost daily and while it could get a bit crowded in the mornings, it had all the equipment I needed for both cardio and strength.
Great Experience! (Celiac Choices, Service, Rooms, Beverages, and Food)
This was our fourth trip to Cancun, but we needed a relaxing all-inclusive trip, that was easy and able to accommodate what we were looking for. ISCC checked all the boxes for us after doing some research. We were a travel group of five ranging from 23-65 in age and all female. Things important to us included being adult only facility, access to a beautiful beach, great pool, and of course great food and drinks. ISCC didn't disappoint. We really enjoyed staying in an adult only resort within a larger family resort for numerous reasons. More activities to choose from, more restaurants to choose from, and more pools to choose from. However, we did spend the majority of our time at the Coral side. All the rooms come with an Ocean view, balcony, and tub on the balcony. I must say after sitting in the sun all day, a cold bath on the balcony with a beverage was nice. The view is amazing. The room is spacious, modern, tons of storage space and closest space. My favorite was the very large bathroom with double sinks and again storage under the sink. The mini bar was nice with juice, soft drinks, beer, and wine. The room also had a Nespresso coffee machine, plenty of bottled water, and a safe. The best thing about the Coral side was the food and beverages. All beverages are top shelf and I didn't think that was a big deal until I had a margarita at the family resort. No comparison at all. The buffet was amazing as well with made to order omelets, pick your fish or whatever meat out and grilled to order available every day. Choices of sides, veggies, breads, fruits, salads, and desserts was endless. We also enjoyed eating at the Hibachi restaurant, Steakhouse, and American Bistro. The Chateaubriand was amazing at the Bistro. If you are staying at the Coral side there is not an upcharge for the higher quality meats like filet mignon and chateaubriand. Another perk for staying at the Coral. I would be remised if I didn't mention Ally (spelling?) from the Coral buffet. One of our parties is Celiac and everyday Ally, one of the chefs, checked in to see what she wanted to eat, made her special sandwiches, made sure there was gluten free soy sauce at the Hibachi restaurant, and made GF pancakes. The service and attention from Ally were amazing and very appreciated. We also enjoyed some of the adult activities provided including making sushi, guacamole making contest, tequila tasting, and our two favorite nighttime activities: making a macramé dreamcatcher and painting. A shout out to Mavana for being great teachers! Finally, a shout out to Jimmy for keeping the pool area lively and fun and all the bartenders in the lobby bar (Armando, Israel, and others). The lobby bar was by far my favorite place to get yummy margaritas, cappuccinos, and numerous other snacks and drinks. The only con to this hotel deals with allegedly being able to select your room. Yes, you can select your room before you arrive, but at a minimum cost of USD $95.00. Very disappointed in this. I know this is a long review, but I wanted to mention things that we enjoy about a resort in case it helps anyone else make a decision about where to stay. You won’t be disappointed if you choose to stay at the Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun.

Not great. I stayed at the coral for 7 days. Bathroom smells like sewage while the staff either could not or is not willing to fix it. The wifi is spotty. There were two days where there's no power and the hotel offered no solution -- the entire time it was extremely hot in the entire hotel. It was unbearable.
Underwhelming
I recently stayed 8 nights coral level (May 1-9) We are Iberostar lovers and frequent Iberostar Joia every year in Sept for 2 weeks at a time. Also want to add we have visited paraiso complex and stayed at all through DelMar- Maya. Been going for the past 10 years.
As far as Coral goes it was just not for us. Room was beautiful. Beach was amazing. But hotel lacked on a lot. The food was just not good for us. Staff not as friendly as the paraiso complex. Breakfast we would arrive at 715-730am and the yogurts were always warm. At one point I had Greek yogurt and made myself a parfait and when I put the first spoon in my mouth, I had to spit it out that yogurt with sour. Another day for breakfast I decided to try the oatmeal and I was mixing my oatmeal at the table and there was hair in it. I did let staff members know, but nothing seem to get done. There was a night for dinner I had mashed potatoes in my plate and also found hair in it. We felt that the variety was lacking for breakfast lunch and dinner. It felt like always the same thing even though it was labeled a special night… we did go over to the selection site, which is a family side and had better meals there than Coral level. And to be quite honest, the staff at the selection side way more friendly than the coral level, which is sad. There were times where we would walk in for dinner and my husband would get a glass of wine and they would never come back to refill the glass the rest of the meal. We would say good morning to the staff when we would see them in the morning and majority of them It was like you were bothering them,You would just get a cocky look. It was crazy! One particular day, My husband said good morning to a staff member in the lobby on the way out to the pool and he got a look to kill, so much that another staff member saw it and actually went up to that particular staff member and told him in Spanish that he could’ve at least said good morning and smiled… the food and the majority of the staff are the reason we will not return to this complex. We actually almost transferred out by day 2 but decided to just wing it and stay because of the beach waiter “ Sabi “ she was amazing and was very humble and friendly and actually smiled and would joke with us. She was the reason for us to stay! Towards the fifth day of our stay, we would just skip lunch due to lack of variety and not finding something that we could enjoy. When she noticed us skipping meals she asked us why we weren’t having lunch we told her our opinion. She found out that I liked gringas and she had the pool food bar lady make some just for me and my husband so we wouldn’t go without eating. She was the absolute best and didn’t have to go out of her way but did with a smile. Forever grateful for her gesture. I also want to add most importantly security for the complex. We always stayed at the beach and we would see the vendors walk by us and got to know them. There’s one particular day I walked into the bathroom near the towel hut, and the massage vendor was in the bathroom. I was shocked to see her… and she had no care in the world that she didn’t belong there, but somehow got in. Clearly, the security is not paying attention. This happened more than once and could be a very dangerous situation for the guests …. I have never ever encountered locals at the beach using a private resort bathroom. Lastly on checkout day, we went to the lobby to check out, and we were completely shocked. The front desk girl looked at us and said your checking out? Give me your room number, Then said we had to pay the environmental tax. Then said, give me your hands so I can cut the bracelets. And then said you’re all set. You can go over there and sit. Me and my husband were SHOCKED! How rude and unprofessional she was. No, hi, how are you? Or good morning? How was your stay? Have a safe flight? I hope to see you again?NOTHING!! It doesn’t cost anything to smile and be nice… it was like we were an inconvenience for checking out… Iberostar do better!! Especially in this complex… this was a one and done for us. I Was looking forward to celebrating my birthday at this complex but instead it left me with a empty feeling… not even 1 Happy Birthday was given to me even though it was mentioned and not to mention I had a birthday shirt on as well, but it was like it would go in one ear and come out the other… sad! Total disappointment! We regret not going to the paraiso complex instead or trying out a different brand all together…. Best part of the stay was employee Sabi and beach!
Exceptional
Jesus carrillo, Daniel and his whole entertainment crew are awesome. Always keeping the good vibe alive. The activities that they put together are fun, competitive and it keeps guests participating throughout the Day and night. Thank you guys for the fun times. Keep up the good work.!!!!
