W Dubai Mina Seyahi

We originally booked to stay at the Le Méridien Mina Seyahi, but upon arrival we were informed that the hotel wasn't open during the week and that we would be transferred to the W Dubai Mina Seyahi, its sister hotel next door. I'll be honest – our first reaction was panic! Already a little nervous about what to expect from Dubai following the recent troubles and UK Government advice regards travel, the news was quite a shock. However, we needn't have worried because what followed turned out to be one of the best upgrades we've ever received. Not only were we transferred to an absolutely stunning hotel, but instead of the family room arrangement we had originally booked, the hotel gave us two separate rooms – one for my wife and me, and another for our 16-year-old son. It felt like a major upgrade and instantly made our holiday even more special. We also gained access to the exclusive WET Deck and Ginger Moon, which quickly became our favourite place to spend our days. The service throughout the hotel was simply outstanding. A special mention must go to Jordy Amal at the Ginger Moon pool bar and Mary from the breakfast/lunch service, who were both fantastic. We'd also like to recognise another member of the breakfast and lunch team from Kathmandu who often wore a blue jacket – unfortunately we didn't catch his name, but he was absolutely brilliant throughout our stay. The team at Farrago Bar were equally amazing, and Raj deserves a special mention for consistently going above and beyond. In truth, every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional and genuinely eager to make our stay memorable. The housekeeping team were exceptional. I've stayed in many hotels over the years, but I've never experienced room service and cleaning of this standard. Not only was the room spotless every day, but the evening turn-down service was a lovely touch and really added to the luxury experience. Speaking of luxury, the rooms were the best we've ever stayed in. The high ceilings create an incredible sense of space, the bathrooms are stunning, and the beds are enormous and unbelievably comfortable. Every detail felt premium. If I had to mention one minor negative, it would be the amount of construction work taking place nearby. The noise can be noticeable from morning to night (they literally don’t stop in Dubai – hence why they get everything completed so quickly compared to the UK however, this is certainly not the hotel's fault and is probably just part of Dubai's constant development. The hotel provides complimentary earplugs and a sleep spray, which certainly helps at night! For anyone considering staying here, I'd strongly recommend upgrading to all-inclusive (known as all-access). Drinks in Dubai can be expensive, so we found it excellent value and definitely got our money's worth. I would recommend the W Dubai Mina Seyahi to anyone looking for a luxury holiday. We had an incredible experience, were treated exceptionally well from start to finish, and fully intend to return. Without a doubt, one of the best holidays we have ever had.
