Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf

Jem made their stay smooth and he made them feel like they didn’t leave their home

During my five-day stay at the JW Marriott Executive Apartments (Monday, August 17th to Friday, August 21st, 2026), my experience was unfortunately extremely disappointing. I was surprised by the low level of service, especially considering the hotel's five-star rating. However, I will try to be as fair as possible in evaluating my stay. First, I must mention that the hotel's location is poor, situated deep within the Oud Metha (Al Jaddaf) area. We arrived after the taxi driver got lost despite using Google Maps. Furthermore, hotel guests cannot rely on taxis, as they do not pass through the street adjacent to the hotel. Guests must constantly depend on Uber and other ride-hailing apps. From the moment I entered the hotel lobby (I arrived at 3:15 PM on Monday, August 17th, 2026), the reception service was terrible. The receptionist treated me coldly and unfriendly, and refused to show me my room, claiming it was not ready, even though it was 3:15 PM. It was past 3 PM (I received the room after 4 PM), and she spoke to me in a very cold and indifferent manner. All she did was drive my family and me to a café.

After checking into the room, the real disaster struck (to be fair, the apartment is large, spacious, and very nice, but it lacks cleanliness and services—I'll elaborate on that shortly).

In general, I'm truly baffled as to how this hotel maintains a five-star standard when the service, cleanliness, and facilities are so poor. There was a foul odor in the master bathroom due to poor cleaning, and it lacked basic necessities like a toothbrush, toothpaste, hand soap, a bathrobe, and other toiletries. The towels were dirty and unsuitable for the hotel's standards; they were worn out and frayed from overuse.

The next morning, I went to the breakfast buffet. There was a decent selection of food from various international cuisines, but it wasn't the best or most distinctive compared to other hotels I've stayed in. The breakfast experience was extremely bad for my wife and daughters. She ordered an egg from one of the supervisors but waited a full hour. When she inquired about her order, the supervisor ignored her, despite knowing exactly what she wanted. Consequently, she was forced to repeat her order and speak with both supervisors about the situation. Unfortunately, instead of taking responsibility or attempting to resolve the issue, both supervisors blamed her. They took it personally and defended each other as if she were at fault. I found their behavior unprofessional and extremely disappointing, especially from supervisors who should have received training in handling guest complaints professionally.

I regret to say that this hotel was a terrible experience and a painful memory for me and my family. I would never return to this hotel, even if offered a free stay.
