Extremely Disappointing Staycation Experience at Gevora Hotel – 28–30 August 2026

Our staycation at Gevora Hotel from 28–30 August 2026 was unfortunately one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have had.

We chose Gevora for a staycation specifically to unwind, relax, and escape the stress of a long and exhausting period at work. Sadly, the lack of proper follow-up, poor communication, and basic service issues turned what should have been a relaxing break into another stressful experience.

1. Living Room TV – No Proper Follow-Up

On the day we checked in, we immediately reported that the living room TV was not working. Despite informing the hotel, nothing was done promptly. We had to follow up three times before any action was taken.

Guests should not have to repeatedly chase hotel staff to resolve a basic room facility issue, particularly when it is reported immediately after check-in.

2. Late Check-Out Request – Extremely Poor Communication

During check-in, I specifically requested a late check-out until 2:00 PM. I raised this directly with the Front Desk Agent, who assured me that the request would be noted and that a notification would be made for our room.

However, on our final day, at approximately 11:10 AM, I received a call informing me that our check-out was at 12:00 noon.

I completely understand that a late check-out is subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed. The issue was not that the 2:00 PM request could not be accommodated—the issue was the poor communication and lack of follow-up.

If the request could not be approved, we should have been informed well in advance. Being contacted only around 50 minutes before check-out left us rushed and disrupted our final morning.

3. Extremely Slow Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi connection was also disappointingly slow and unreliable during our stay. For a hotel of this standard, guests should be able to expect a reasonably fast and stable internet connection.

Whether for entertainment, communication, or simply browsing, the poor Wi-Fi added another layer of frustration to an already disappointing experience.

Overall

What should have been a peaceful and relaxing staycation became more stressful because of repeated follow-ups, poor communication, slow Wi-Fi, and inadequate attention to basic guest needs.

We did not expect special treatment. We simply expected the basic level of service, communication, and facilities that a paying guest should receive from a hotel of Gevora’s standard.

These issues were largely avoidable. The TV should have been checked and resolved promptly, the late check-out request should have been properly communicated, and the Wi-Fi service should have been reliable.

Gevora Hotel needs to seriously improve its guest communication, follow-up, and service quality. A staycation is supposed to leave guests feeling relaxed, comfortable, and valued—not frustrated, rushed, and disappointed.

Unfortunately, our experience did not meet the standard we expected, and we would seriously reconsider staying at Gevora Hotel again.
