My family and I recently stayed here for 11 days in early July to celebrate a milestone birthday. To say the team here over-delivered is a massive understatement. We felt so impeccably taken care of, so anticipated, and so genuinely valued, that we actually felt bad. They operate with the precision and grace of a well-oiled machine, yet they manage to make every interaction feel deeply personal. If there were a 10-star rating, this property would earn it.

The Experience

From the moment we arrived after a grueling 13-hour flight, Lisa at reception was an absolute angel. She was incredibly empathetic to our travel fatigue, welcoming, and set the perfect tone for our stay.

The Room: We stayed in a superior sea view with two queen beds. It was spotless, smelled amazing, and had ample space for all our belongings. It was a true sanctuary and excellent soundproofing meant we slept soundly every night (once we adjusted to the time difference from EST).

Dining: The buffet at Olea is phenomenal with endless options for every palate. The team there, specifically Hashan, Precious, Marco N, Fernando and Uwais, were constantly ensuring we had everything we needed. They even surprised us with a birthday cake and a song! We also loved the food at Sophia’s, Buddha Bar, and Sontaya. For a quick pick-me-up, Cafe Ginori has excellent treats, and there is a great spot on the residence side called Le Noir that even carries Starbucks.

The Butler Service: Abraar and Aman were simply amazing. They were incredibly attentive, constantly checking in, and regularly surprised us with fresh fruit and treats. Abraar even coordinated another surprise cake for us!

Pool & Beach: The property is immaculately maintained. While the adult pool was under construction, the family pool was more than enough. The staff: Madhu, Ideon, Francis, Aman, Thushan, Danny, Sahun, Samir, Prakash, and Tharuka are absolute rockstars. They circulate constantly with cold towels, water, ice cold popsicles and fresh fruit. On Saturday and Sunday, they set up a fruit station and detox water and juices.

Pro Tip: Keep an eye out for the staff member with the hawk! It’s a genius touch that keeps the outdoor dining areas incredibly comfortable. As for the beach, the water is like a warm bath, and if you wake up early or catch the sunset, you might just spot dolphins!

Gym: A full-scale, spacious gym that kept me on track with my workouts despite some light renovations. Cold towels and water were always on hand.

Memorable Touches: We wanted to catch the Portugal vs. Spain match at the Manhattan Lounge (cigar lounge). Because we were traveling with a little one, we couldn't enter the lounge itself because of some smoke, but Kanchan, Jude, Eyon, Subash, and Sunega went out of their way to set up a couch outside near the big screen so we could watch. That is the kind of hospitality that raises eyebrows; they are true problem solvers where "no" simply isn't an option.

Concierge: Marwan is a master of his craft. He arranged and off-site dinner reservation for us, and when we arrived at the restaurants, they were already expecting us, as the hotel had called ahead to ensure we were treated like royalty.

The attention to detail here is unmatched. They know your name, they know your departure time, and they have thought of everything. It is rare to find a place that feels this genuine and engaging.

A quick travel hack: Taxis are very affordable and accept cash, credit cards, and Apple Pay. It’s the easiest way to explore the city!

As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite Member, I have stayed in many luxury hotels around the world. Elite status certainly comes with additional benefits, and I always appreciate when a hotel recognizes loyal guests. However, what impressed us most at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort Abu Dhabi was that exceptional hospitality is clearly part of the culture here, it is not reserved for elite members.

Today at the pool, every guest was offered complimentary fresh fruit, which was a wonderful gesture. As Titanium members, we were additionally surprised with a beautifully prepared fruit platter. It was another thoughtful touch that made us feel genuinely appreciated, but at the same time we could see that every guest was being looked after with the same warmth and attention.

Throughout the resort, you constantly notice how much the staff genuinely cares. This is not scripted service, it feels authentic. Everyone smiles, everyone greets you warmly, and everyone seems proud to create memorable experiences for their guests.

This evening we had dinner at Buddha-Bar, and once again the experience was outstanding. The service team was incredibly professional, attentive, and sincerely friendly. Every interaction felt natural, elegant, and welcoming. It is exactly the level of hospitality you hope for when choosing a world-class luxury resort.

What makes this resort stand out is that excellence is consistent. Whether you are at breakfast, the beach, the pool, in the restaurants, speaking with the butler team, housekeeping, concierge, or room service, the service standard never drops.

Honestly, this resort has truly understood what outstanding guest service means.

I often wish we had this level of hospitality in Germany. If hotels and restaurants there consistently delivered service like this, I am convinced far more people would enjoy going out, because exceptional service transforms a meal or a hotel stay into a genuine experience.

The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort is not just a beautiful luxury hotel, it is a place where every employee contributes to making guests feel valued. That is something increasingly rare, and it deserves the highest recognition.
