Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche

We had a wonderful dining experience, and the service was excellent. Our waitress “Hope” was very friendly, attentive, and professional. She was always attentive to our needs and made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. Her warm and pleasant attitude truly made our experience more enjoyable. Excellent service!

I always thought this was a pretty high end hotel, but it was disappointing. Despite apparently being a non-smoking floor, I was woken 2 nights running to the smell of smoke coming through the (closed and locked) adjoining door from the room next door at 2am. I'd love to have phoned reception, but there's no indication of what the number is. The 'hotel directory' in the room has no details of anything - it's a one-page 'document'. It took me a while to find a room service menu on the TV (I don't tend to use the TV so didn't think to look there; I found it during my unsuccessful hunt for the reception number). Lights are flickering in my room, restaurants are closed, and the hotel has a distinctly down-at-heel feel about it. Wouldn't rush back. Whilst it's absolutely not some shabby Travelodge, it didn't live up to the hype.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The staff were consistently rude, unhelpful, and showed little interest in resolving any of the issues we encountered. The rooms had an unpleasant smell, and several of the advertised amenities were unavailable or not working. We were unable to use the swimming pool or the rooftop bar, and the hotel only had one restaurant serving repetitive food throughout our stay. The most frustrating part was that none of these closures or restrictions were communicated to us before we booked or prior to our arrival. Had we been informed that so many facilities would be unavailable, we would have chosen a different hotel. We were a family of eight celebrating a 21st birthday. We specifically chose this hotel so we could spend quality time together, relaxing by the pool and enjoying the hotel's facilities. Instead, we were forced to leave the hotel every day to find things to do because the amenities we had paid for were unavailable. It completely ruined what should have been a special family celebration. The hotel was not accommodating in any way, and the lack of communication and poor customer service made an already disappointing situation even worse. This is genuinely one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, and I would not recommend it to anyone. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!
