The Niraamaya Retreats, Surya Samudra is a wonderful place to really get away from it all. Here you'll feel as far away as it's possible to feel from the stresses of daily life. This stunning beachside resort has been designed to offer the very best in relaxation as well as five star service. Using the spa facilities is a highlight for guests with plenty of enriching therapies to choose from. You can also benefit from yoga or enjoy one of the traditional performances to gain an insight into the local culture.
The five star facilities at the Niraamaya Retreats, Surya Samudra include a choice of two restaurants as well as a bar, a library and a laundry service. There's also a picture-perfect pool surrounded by palm trees where you can relax in the sunshine. The beach is also particularly beautiful, whether you opt for a cooling swim or perhaps an evening stroll as the sun goes down.
When it's time to retire to bed, your accommodation is the perfect fit with the surroundings and ambiance of this glorious resort. Each of the Heritage Classic Cottages are elegantly furnished and enjoy high ceilings and a sense of space.
All rooms are air conditioned and have their own sit-out veranda along with a king size four poster bed, LCD TV, telephone, hairdryer, mini-bar (at a fee), tea/coffee making facilities, Wi-Fi and even cotton organic bathrobes and comfy slippers.

Disappointing Experience – Overpriced and Overhyped
Unfortunately, my experience at Niraamaya Retreats Surya Samudra was quite disappointing and did not match the expectations created by its reputation.
The staff service was below the standard I expected from a resort in this price range. The restaurant also felt too small and lacked sufficient space, making the dining experience uncomfortable. Food service was extremely slow, with an excessive amount of time taken to serve the dishes.
Considering the high prices, I honestly feel the overall experience was not worth the money. The resort appears to be significantly overhyped and overpriced, and the level of service and dining experience did not justify the premium cost.
I expected much better service and value for the price. Unfortunately, I would not recommend it based on my experience.
Onam at Niraamaya !
The location, the whole resort and the outdoors are beautiful! The staff are helpful and courteous! The food was amazing. We have been having the delicious Onasadya at Niraamaya for the past two years! Mr Tankaswamy always helps us in getting things sorted out. Special thanks to all the staff and restaurant team for making our Onam memorable!

Not as expected
Niraamaya is a beautiful, peaceful place away from the city, with a lovely ambience and a very calm atmosphere. For the location, surroundings and overall ambience, I would easily give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
However, the food experience was quite disappointing. The food lacked taste, and the service was average . The food options were also quite limited.
Given the price, we were expecting better service and tastier food, which was lacking during our stay.
Overall, a wonderful place for a peaceful stay, but the food and service could definitely be improved.
Beautiful experience
Our stay at Niraamaya Surya Samudram, Kovalam, Kerala, was absolutely beautiful and memorable. My mother and I stayed in a lovely sea-view cottage, which was comfortable, peaceful, and offered stunning views.
We enjoyed Ayurvedic therapies every day, and the entire experience was truly rejuvenating. A special mention to Dr. Lekshmi, who guided us so thoughtfully and created a personalised wellness plan for us. Her care and attention made the experience even more meaningful.
All the therapists were extremely skilled, warm, and professional. We felt very well taken care of throughout our stay.
Overall, it was a wonderful wellness retreat, and we came back feeling relaxed, refreshed, and rejuvenated. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful Ayurvedic and wellness experience in a beautiful setting.
