Casino Hotel

Very nice expereince, wonderful staff and amazing food.

My wife Prerna and I stayed at Casino Hotel, Kochi for almost a month, from September to October, and what was meant to be a stay away from home turned into an experience we will remember with genuine fondness. My wife and I have stayed at many places, but what makes Casino special is its people. From the lobby staff and the trainees at the entrance to the reception, housekeeping, restaurant and bar teams, everyone was consistently warm, efficient, attentive and responsive, at any hour of the day or night. Every request was taken care of, and always with a smile. There was a natural warmth about the place that made us feel welcome every single day. It never felt mechanical or merely professional. It felt personal. The food deserves a special mention. The buffets were lavish, the variety remarkable, and the repetition surprisingly little despite our long stay. The only explanation I can think of is that the chefs are magicians who genuinely love what they do. The restaurant staff, the bar team and everyone working across the property carried the same spirit of hospitality. The property itself is beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. Our room was comfortable and spotless. The pool was clean and inviting, and the lifeguard on duty was diligent and sincere. We frequented the gym regularly, and while modest, it had all the essentials, was well maintained, and was always clean, with water bottles readily available. One small improvement would be the bathroom design. A more complete shower enclosure would prevent water from splashing into the WC area and leaving the floor wet. It is a minor issue, though, and barely registered against everything else that made our stay so enjoyable. But there are a few people who will stay with me long after we have checked out. There was an elderly gentleman working around the premises whom I affectionately called Chetta. Despite his age, I hardly ever saw him resting. He went about his work with a quiet dedication that was genuinely inspiring. We exchanged smiles and greetings every day. We never needed many words; there was a certain warmth in those brief exchanges. I looked at him with tremendous respect for his honesty, dignity and work ethic, and I like to think he acknowledged me in his own gentle way, too. People like him define a place far more than they realise. The gentleman who sings and plays the guitar in the restaurant was another delight, especially on weekends. And then there was the magician uncle, whose genuine, almost childlike happiness in his craft was infectious. These little human moments added something to our stay that no luxury or amenity can replicate. Then there were the regular faces we saw and the people we met in the restaurant during meal times who with their small gestures made our every meal an i forgettable episode. It would not be possible to name all and i would feel really bad if i missed out any names and therefore it is only with that thought in mind that i say that it was all of them who we met on all days. As we leave after nearly a month, what we will remember most is not the room, the pool or even the wonderful food. It is the smiles, the warmth, the little conversations, and the feeling of being looked after by people who take genuine pride in what they do. A property can be built, rooms can be furnished, and facilities can be provided. But the soul of a place comes from its people. Casino Hotel has that soul in abundance. My compliments to the entire team and the management for creating an environment where hospitality feels so effortless and genuine. I have little doubt that with people like these, Casino will continue to do wonderfully well.

We leave with lovely memories and a great deal of affection for this place. Thank you for making our month in Kochi feel so much like home.
