Holiday Inn Goa Candolim

I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Candolim, and while the property itself is well-maintained and in a good location, my overall experience was disappointing.

The biggest issue was the service. The reception staff was not welcoming and lacked warmth or hospitality. The only person who genuinely stood out was Sumit, who was polite, professional, and helpful throughout our stay.

The breakfast was below average in terms of both taste and variety. What made it even more uncomfortable was that chefs would come to our table asking us to leave a 5-star review while we were still dining. This puts guests in an awkward position, and genuine reviews should be earned through good service, not requested in person.

The restaurant service also needs significant improvement. The staff often seemed inattentive and would ignore requests instead of proactively assisting guests.

Another disappointing experience was with the complimentary beer coupons included in our stay. We requested to have the beers served at the pool, but they were simply handed to us in our hands—without a tray or even glasses. At the same time, guests who purchased drinks were being served properly with trays and glassware. Complimentary guests should also receive the same level of basic service.

On the positive side, the parking attendants and the staff at the main gate were courteous and welcoming. The interns were also polite, eager to help, and left a positive impression. I also appreciate that the hotel does not charge for baby food, which is a thoughtful gesture for families traveling with infants.

Overall, while the property has potential, the inconsistent service and lack of hospitality made this stay far less enjoyable than expected. I hope the management focuses more on guest experience than on requesting 5-star reviews, because great service naturally earns positive feedback.

I had a wonderful stay and would especially like to appreciate the Housekeeping team for their excellent service. The room was always kept spotless, well-organized, and refreshed on time every day. The staff paid great attention to detail, ensuring all amenities were replenished and the room remained comfortable throughout my stay. Their professionalism, politeness, and prompt response to requests made a positive difference to my overall experience.
