More than a stopover hotel
Had 3 nights here to recover from our journey but it was so much more than expected. Lovely lagoon location and tasty reasonably priced food. I would highly recommend a tuk tuk tour with Dennis who is based just outside the hotel gate - very knowledgeable and helpful. The highlight was the lagoon boat trip with Rohan who showed us wonderful views with excellent humour. He also went the extra mile in helping us with our onward travel plans. Thank you also to Mr Rangan, head of catering for his advice.
Quick evening drink
We went for a quick hangout and it was cozy and with a beautiful view of the lagoon. Oshan served us and he was very helpful with our needs. Also, the dish we ordered was really 👌 good.
Horrible management and zero customer support – Avoid this place!
I had a terrible and incredibly stressful experience during my stay at Amagi Aria Negombo yesterday. I checked in around 3:00 PM, and after going to the pool, I realized that my gold chain (worth around 5–6 sovereigns) was missing. I managed to confirm through a photo I took earlier that I was wearing it right before entering the pool area. The moment I noticed it was missing in my room, I immediately contacted the reception and urgently requested their help to check the CCTV footage and assist me in finding it. I spent nearly 1.5 hours searching for it myself. Despite the high value of the lost item, the hotel management showed absolutely zero responsibility or empathy. No General Manager (GM) or Resident Manager (RM) ever came to speak with me, ask what happened, or offer any reassurance. When I asked to check the CCTV, they simply gave an excuse that the IT Manager was on leave. Furthermore, despite my repeated requests to check inside the pool, no pool attendants or staff members were willing to get into the water to look for it. All they did was walk around the pool shining torches. In the end, it was another hotel guest who kindly gave me a pair of swimming goggles. I had to personally dive into the pool to find and recover my own chain. The hotel staff did absolutely nothing to help. Due to this completely irresponsible and careless attitude from the staff and management, I felt so unsafe and disappointed that I checked out of the hotel the very same evening around 7:30 PM. The customer service is nonexistent, and the management is utterly useless. I highly do not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe and hospitable stay.
