Radisson Hotel Colombo

Unfortunately, the room had a very strong and unpleasant smoke smell. It made the room uncomfortable to stay in, and the smell remained throughout our stay. The room should have been properly cleaned and aired out before guests arrived. I hope this issue is addressed to provide a better experience for future guests.

I stayed at the Radisson for two nights and, unfortunately, was very disappointed with the overall experience.

The Front Office team appeared to be completely unaware of basic communication and how to respond to simple guest queries. Due to ongoing construction on-site, there were frequent loud bangs and disturbances. I had to make more than three calls to reception just to understand what was happening and what needed to be done. The lack of clear communication was extremely frustrating.

The checkout experience was even more concerning. The elevator failed, and I was stuck on the 7th floor. The emergency response and communication from the team on-site were far below what I would expect from an international hotel brand. In fact, another guest had to manually open the lift, after which we had no choice but to walk down seven floors to complete our checkout.

The rooms themselves also require major improvement. Housekeeping standards need attention, particularly when it comes to cleanliness, maintenance, and basic safety.

Overall, this experience was far below the standard I expected from Radisson. I strongly recommend that management focus on training and development of the team, communication, emergency procedures, housekeeping standards, and guest service. These areas need immediate attention if the hotel wants to improve its service quality and maintain the reputation and image of the brand.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to make meaningful improvements.
