Buisness Trip to Colombo
Hotel is in a good location not too far from downtown of Galle Face area. Rooms on the west side have a wonderful view of the Indian Ocean. The hotel also offers great night time views from the roof top bar and the infinity pool. Food is also decent. A special mention to Kasum the housekeeper who is a big asset to the hotel staff. Always cheerful and ready to help, he does an excellent job.

Stay in Cinnamon Red
Great business hotel to stay in Colombo. Room is comfortable and staff are very helpful. Dilshan and Sanjeeva in the front desk helped me to retreive my phone that I left behind in the Tuk. Jayathu and Shane are great hosts at the breakfast table. Highly recommend a stay if on business in Colombo.

Quite good, could be better
We reserved 2 rooms that were very clean, but quite cramped, and it would have been helpful to have basic amenities such as a toothbrush provided.
Unfortunately, we also had an issue with one room door, which would not close at all because a lock component had come away from its screw and was sticking out. It took two separate attempts to resolve the problem. However, the second time an engineer attended personally, and he was able to fix it properly.
I had also contacted the General Manager, Terrance Fernando, well in advance to arrange something special for a birthday during our stay, but unfortunately received no response. I later found out that he was overseas, which I completely understand. However, I would have expected that arrangements would be in place for someone else to respond to guests in his absence, particularly for a request made well in advance.
On a much more positive note, we had dinner at The Lagoon seafood restaurant at Cinnamon Grand Colombo. We simply mentioned in passing that it was one of our birthdays, and the restaurant staff immediately arranged a cake and candle for us. That was an excellent example of thoughtful and attentive service, and we really appreciated it.
Overall, there were some areas where the service and attention to detail could be improved, but we also experienced some genuinely excellent service during our stay.
