Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort and Spa

The hotel is beautiful. We loved our villa with the balcony you can relax on even when it is raining, the pool by the lobby with the amazing view and the small beach with the even more beautiful view with nature all around you. Snorkeling around here was so much fun with many fish to see, if you needed it you could even borrow equipment. As the hotel is located close to the north shore of the island and is placed high on the hill, you have the amazing view but you can still get to the Beau Vallon Beach with a car in 10 minutes and Victoria in about 20 minutes. The staff is so nice and was always there in no time if we needed anything. For example Ricky, whom we met giving out towels or just checking if we needed anything by the pool and beach, was so friendly and open that we felt right at home. Our villa care specialist Christie left us beautiful bed spreads and made us feel so comfortable in the villa, it was always very clean. In the villa, with closed windows and doors you could hear the birds and the fruit bats and of course the rain, but that gave it its charm. As it is a 5 star hotel and on Seychelles we knew it was going to be pricy, but we were still a little taken aback by the prices for food and drinks. All in all we had a beautiful honeymoon and enjoyed every moment, even when it rained on some of the days.

They have three different restaurants to choose from.

We went to the Pool & Beach Bar for dinner twice and once for some cocktails on our stay. Our hosts on the first visit, Rose, Wesley & Swaibu, were very friendly and the burgers were delicious. As a dessert, we had a brownie with ice cream - also really good. All in all the bar has a pretty wide selection and has a very comfortable atmosphere and we enjoyed the live music, performed by wonderful singers. During the daytime, the view is amazing! We can only recommend coming.

We had dinner at the wave restaurant on two evenings, once with the normal menu and once on tapas night. On our second visit, one of the hosts, Maris-Michelle, even remembered us and what we wanted to drink, which was really nice! All the hosts, Julius and Sylvester along with Maris-Michelle, were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. On the regular menu night, we got Coconut-bread with a vinegar as a starter which was delicious. There was a vegetarian option available and even if there was not one on the menu, like on tapas night, the chef had prepared a vegetarian option anyway. Of course it is very individual, but as a person having food-groups I don't eat, with the restaurant mainly having one menu with two exceptions during the week, I couldn't eat there every night. Everything we tried was very good and my husband was especially pleased to have half a lobster with the regular menu. Dessert was also delicious on both occasions, but as the main course was quite a lot, we were very very full after 😃 When you are lucky, you can sit right by the balcony with a beautiful view during daytime. We enjoyed the restaurant with its chic interior and elegant vibe and can really recommend coming.

The Mahé Restaurant we went to almost every day for breakfast and on three occasions we went there for dinner, once with creol food as a special. The breakfast has a wide selection of fruits, they had breads, sweet muffins, cereal, meats and vegan oatmeal, which I loved. You could order eggs in different forms and pancakes & waffle. Plus, there was always one special of the day. On one occasion my order was forgotten, but the other days we loved the scrambled eggs on coconut bread and especially the different cold juices. As I already wrote, not eating everything could make it hard to keep going to the restaurant with the same menu every day with only one exception during the week - but on the first visit one of the hosts told me I can request a different dish if I like beforehand. That I really appreciated. On the first night at the restaurant, we had lentil soup, which was delicious, followed by a vegetable curry for me (the vegetarian option) and a beef dish for my husband. I really enjoyed the curry, it was just a bit too much for me 😃 Both times the dessert was amazing. On creol night, as there was supposed to be a shared starter plate with fish and meat, the chef Thabo even came out to explain his solution for me, which was very kind. Our hosts on the first night, Kobe, Gigi & Eloyra, and on the second night, Nelly, Uche & Gigi, were also very friendly and always had a moment to talk and laugh with us. The restaurant has a cozy feeling to it and lets you enjoy the trees and nature around you during the day. We definitely recommend coming here.

Came to Northolme Seychelles as part of our honeymoon. It’s such a beautiful place set in the hills. Beautiful food and the staff are so kind and will do anything to make you happy. The rooms are gorgeous with views over the sea and amazing wildlife, especially the fruit bats flying between the trees. Thank you for making our stay so memorable

We enjoyed our 7-day break at Hilton Northolme very much. On arrival we were placed in an Ocean View villa (#309) adjacent to noisy building work. We immediately requested a different room but none was available on our first day. After some discussion with in-hotel staff and via the Hilton corporate WhatsApp group we were moved to a different villa (#307) on our second day. The communication with Hilton via their WhatsApp group and with local staff was good and cordial throughout; we felt well-informed and cared for. Our villa was lovely and precisely as booked with our own pool and a view out over the sea. The grounds of the hotel are well maintained and all staff are courteous and happy to say hello.

Some areas that the hotel could improve are broadly to do with attention to detail: (a) the prices shown for several drinks items on the bar and restaurant menus differed from what was charged by the till system. This issue occurred twice during our stay and staff were made aware at the time. (b) on two occasions we found that the two restaurants deviated from the food items listed on the menu. We had an Octopus meal that should have had curry infused mash (there was no curry infusion that we could taste), and we had a local fish meal that should have had chargrilled broccoli, but it came with boiled broccoli; the chargrilled broccoli was brought to the table immediately upon my request. Desserts in the Wave restaurant were a little disappointing: the tiramisu came in a pot with no discernible taste of any coffee liqueur; the cannoli had the texture of a baked biscuit, not an authentic fried cannoli.

These small details matter in a 5* hotel. Overall we were happy with our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.
