The Local Area
This elegant resort hotel has a spectacular location overlooking Wolmar Beach near Flic-en-Flac on the western side of the island. The white sand stands out in sharp contrast to the sparkling clear blue waters of the lagoon and the deeper blue of Le Morne Mountain in the background. Built in typical cool airy Mauritian style, the resort stands in beautifully landscaped gardens with thatch roofed open sided restaurant and bar overlooking the large pool and the beach beyond.

Luxury with a personal touch
Spent an amazing week with 2 friends in the Exclusive Suite, which has 2 bedrooms a lounge and an amazing wrap around balcony overlooking the sea. It also had a huge bathroom and walk in wardrobe- with plenty of space and hangers for 3 girls! The attentiveness of the staff was incredible - being a smaller resort than some others on this long stretch of beach, they remembered your name, room number and favourite cocktail order! The hotel duty manager even picked us up one evening when we had ventured to an outside location for dinner and couldn’t get a taxi home. We had considered staying at Sugar Beach as an alternative- but having visited there for dinner one evening, it seemed more family orientated with a lot more kids and a lot bigger. So we were happy to return to Sands Suites. We did a great day trip on a catamaran organised through the beach hut which was a lot of fun- saw dolphins, snorkelled and enjoyed dancing to music. It was a real highlight. Special mentions from our stay go to Ruddy who went the extra mile looking after us poolside, ensuring that we got ‘good coffee’ from the bar (it could be a bit hit and miss otherwise). We also enjoyed Chris’s pool aquagym every day.

Paradise island
We spent a wonderful week at Sands Suites Resort & Spa! The hotel is beautiful, the setting is truly paradise, and the staff are absolutely lovely. A huge thank you to the entire team for their warm welcome, kindness, and professionalism.
The buffets were excellent, with a great variety of delicious, high-quality food. We also loved discovering the many sides of Mauritius, from its gastronomy and rich culture to its exciting adventures. There is something for everyone on this amazing island!
We are leaving with wonderful memories and already wishing we could come back. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Sands team for making our stay so special.
Mauritius truly deserves its nickname, Paradise Island! We highly recommend this hotel and would happily return.

A Wonderful Stay with Exceptional People
A wonderful week at Sands Suites Resort & Spa! The staff were always smiling, polite, attentive and quick to help, making us feel truly welcome. There was so much to enjoy that even a full week wasn’t enough to try everything! We especially loved the evenings at the bar with live music, a lovely way to end each day. A very special thank you to Vick, the bar supervisor, whose warmth, thoughtfulness and professionalism made those evenings even more memorable. His genuine care for guests really stood out. Thank you to the whole team for such a lovely stay 🙏🏻

Absolutely brilliant resort par excellence
My wife n I were most impressed by the warmth n hospitality which we experienced when we arrived in Sands Suites Resort n Spa. First, the General Manager Mr Guillaume n Front Desk Manager Mr Krishna and also Mr Vinod came to greet us. Thereafter, Miss Gloria, Mr Selen, Miss Anouska, Mr Hitesh n Miss Chloe as well as many other staff looked after us wonderfully. We have been to many other resorts previously n would say without reservation that this resort indeed stands out. We will definitely return when we visit Mauritius again. Incredible staff
I had an amazing time staying in Sands Suites last week because of the lovely staff there! On arrival, the duty manager, Sunny, gave me breakfast and early check-in as soon as I arrived, which I appreciated so much after the long flight I had. Sunny was constantly ensuring that I was comfortable and happy, checking in with me everytime he saw me and addressing me by my name.
A lot of the other staff also took the time to learn my name, and greeted me and checked in with me whenever they saw me - Sandy, Chris, Eric, Ashwyn, Vicky and many other staff at the buffet restaurant and reception. It made me feel extremely special and welcome, especially as I had travelled solo. I never felt lonely and always had company when I wanted it.
The hotel itself is lovely - amazing views, good food, stunning and big suite rooms. There is always space to eat, swim, and relax on a sun lounger no matter what time you leave your room (this isn't something I've found to be true among other hotels). But the most wonderful thing of all is the staff. Thank you so much for making my first time in Mauritius an amazing experience!
