2 couples visited the hotel in march for 10 nights, the hotel looked after us with good food and drinks, only snag was not enough music round the pool during the day.Book the restaurants as soon as you arrive on the hotel app. Would advise water shoes in the sea. Overall great time had by all

My wife and I stayed at the Palace from 19th June for 14 nights and miss it so much . From the minute we arrived to the very last moment we were treated like Royalty by the most caring and friendliest staff we have ever encountered on our many travels. We stayed in room 5201 which was immaculately cleaned every day by our housekeepers with Mini Bar always topped up, our room also had a great view of both mountain and sea, close to the lift and very spacious and quiet.
The Palace has it all ,the food is fantastic in the main buffet with a huge variety to suit every diet , and the themed restaurants are well worth a visit, book as early as possible, we were very lucky to book them all twice, our favourite being The Krystal seafood which also does lamb and steak dishes. On a lazy day you can use Pepes food bar right next to the beach and pool bar that do great burgers, hotdogs, e.t.c. The beach is beautifully laid out with palms and plenty loungers for everyone same applies at the pool. The only slight disappointment which has nothing to do with the hotel more so mother nature was we could not do much snorkelling due to the currant being strong for swimming. As it is winter season it is rather windy down at the beach just now ,but by no means did this take anything away from our holiday, we just booked a dolphin snorkel with island trip instead. The Capuchino bar is a must with fantastic Irish coffees and an abundance of cakes with the usual smiling service. The drinks at all bars are of a very good standard and once the bartenders get to know you they will make it exactly how you like it, we had a ball with them all. The entertainment team were good around the pool and not to pushy we took part in a few activities. There are singers in the lobby at dinner time, then main shows at the Sega Theatre.

All staff are amazing here but we would like to give special thanks to Lochimi and Suraj for their wonderful welcome from day one and care and help throughout. Nafisat dinner and Donella outside lunch at the buffet. Agnijit Bangalore resaurant. Sachin, mini bar. Vashish, Le Morne bar. Mohitabh ,Karan, Maravanne bar. Tushur, Sarah,Solomon Jahmel, pool bar. Ocean, pool activities. and the wee pool towel Lady.

One last mention goes out to Senura who made our stay very very special due to a few requests before arrival which were all granted, with the added touch of Champagne and bed decorations on arrival and for our Anniversary. During our first week we went to thank him personally and what a pleasant, caring, attentive man he was for the rest of our holiday. Senura is a real asset to RIU. Do not hesitate to stay here it really is great and hopefully we will return very soon.

Went to Rui palace in May/June. We were picked up by taxi from airport, it was a bit of a mad drive, our friends were in the front taxi, their taxi driver nearly knocked someone over on zebra crossing.

Check in at reception was very quick & smooth. Our rooms were very clean and tidy, the shower was lovely, we were right near to swimming pool.

We could not fault the food, it was good, so were the speciality restaurant’s.

The staff in the bars were very good and they remember our drinks & were lots of fun, especially Mr enjoyyyyyy !

Smita on reception (so were the other staff) were so helpful nothing was too much for her, helped sort out reservations when we could not get the same booking time as our friends, nothing was not to much for her.

The beach is lovely but the sea is full of coral so you have to wear beach shoes. The gardens were kept well and looked lovely.

The only down side to this hotel is they do not monitor people smoking or vaping considering it is supposed to be a non smoking hotel which it says in brochure. I am asthmatic and in the past people vaping in a night club has lead me to lose my voice. My husband put a complaint in on the app about people smoking in the pool/swim up bar and around the pool. We did get an invite to speak to manager about this, which resulted in us being up graded to the elite club. The elite bar area & swimming pool is lovely very quiet and relaxing. The food in the elite restaurant was very good.

I have been several Rui hotels and have to say the evening entrainment was very disappointing. The white night the music was poor and they played the kids entertainment music. We went to Mexico/Maldives and they played music for the adults and the night was designed for adults. I filled one of their surveys and the entertainment manager asked to speak to us, he said he would take on board what we said, I hope he does as I thought entertainment after 9 was for adults. Also evening entrainment does not do a two week rota.

We did 3 trips North of the island, 5 island boat trip and Safari, they were all very enjoyable. Wished we had done the 8 hour day trip to Safari, we had a private jeep the 4 of us our tour guide was so knowledgeable and made trip very interesting. Boat trip was fun & the rum went down well. North island was good and interesting.

These are just my opinions, I would definitely recommend this hotel there was lots of positive things about the place.
