What can I say? Absolutely amazing from start to finish!
From the moment we arrived, the welcome was exceptional. We were early for check-in, but the team immediately made us feel at home by inviting us to enjoy a welcome drink while we waited. It was a lovely touch and set the tone for the rest of our stay.
The resort itself is stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and with views that are simply breathtaking. The food, drinks, and choice of restaurants were all excellent, offering something for everyone without ever feeling overwhelming.
A very special mention has to go to James. We honestly wanted to bring him home with us! His attention to detail, genuine warmth, and outstanding service made our holiday even more memorable. He always greeted us with a smile, remembered our preferences, and made us feel truly valued. He is a real credit to the Hilton team.
In fact, every member of staff we met was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible holiday. It has been a privilege to experience such incredible hospitality.
I rarely return to the same destination because I love exploring new places, but this holiday has completely changed my mind. We’ll definitely be back.
Thank you to everyone at Hilton for making our stay so unforgettable. See you again very soon!
My partner and I spent the last four nights of our Mauritius holiday at Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa. The resort itself is beautiful, with lovely gardens, a nice beach, and spacious rooms. However, compared to the other 5-star hotels we stayed at during our trip, we were disappointed.
One thing that surprised us was that nobody explained the resort or how everything worked when we checked in. We arrived around noon and had booked full board. The receptionist told us we could go straight to lunch. At the restaurant, we were informed that the Sunday buffet was included in our package. However, when we finished, we were charged around €40 per person. My partner went back to reception, where they realized they had mistakenly registered us as half-board guests. Thankfully, they corrected the mistake quickly, but it was not a great first impression. Unfortunately, the same mistake happened again at check-out, when the lunch was once more charged to our bill. We had to point this out again, although it was corrected immediately. For a 5-star hotel, we feel that this number of repeated mistakes should not happen.
The same evening, we had another unpleasant experience. After dinner, we wanted to sign the bill for our bottle of wine and water. A waitress brought us a bill that clearly belonged to another table, with completely different drinks listed. We politely explained that it wasn’t ours. She returned a second time with exactly the same incorrect bill, and even after we pointed it out again, she insisted that we sign it anyway. We refused because we only wanted to sign the correct bill. Instead of checking properly, she became visibly annoyed, laughed at us, and even grabbed the empty water bottle from our table in frustration. She then came back a third time with the very same incorrect bill. At that point, we spoke to another member of staff, who immediately apologized, checked the bill, and brought us the correct one without any issue. She was very professional and kind, and we really appreciated how she handled the situation.
In general, the service was quite slow. We often waited a very long time just to order or receive drinks.
Another situation we found inappropriate happened one evening at around 7:05 p.m. while we were getting ready for dinner. Housekeeping knocked on our door, and we answered “one second” and “please wait.” Despite this, the staff member replied, “I’m coming in,” and entered the room without waiting for our permission. She was polite, but we still found this unprofessional.
The breakfast was good, while the dinner buffet was average—nothing particularly memorable. We also found the prices throughout the resort to be very high. At the Thai restaurant, many menu items required an additional charge despite having a meal package, which was disappointing. That being said, the food at the Thai restaurant was excellent, and the service there was one of the highlights of our stay. The staff were attentive, friendly, and provided a much better dining experience than we had elsewhere in the resort.
Some employees were genuinely friendly, helpful, and welcoming, while others seemed uninterested and unfriendly.
Overall, after spending a week in other excellent 5-star hotels in Mauritius, this resort simply did not meet the same standard. Although the property itself is beautiful, the service, organization, and overall experience did not justify the prices. Unfortunately, we would not choose to stay here again.
I had a First rate relaxing massage followed by a sauna and a stream and a shower … was so good ! Highly recommended to everyone !!!
Location is ideal and grounds are nice. Both heated pools are spacious and well kept. Room service is good and staff is very helpful.
Buffet choice was not great and felt service at the tables was slow. Better buffet is available around other resorts in Mauritius with similar priced tag.
It was a great experience One of the best in Mauritius The staff is amazing and special mention to the kids club who really made sure our kid had a great time
