Shanti Maurice Resort and Spa

I am writing this as we prepare to say a sad farewell to this stunning paradise . Everything about Shanti Maurice is magical. The location, the accommodation, the cuisine and above all the amazing staff. This resort leaves nothing to chance and offers way above a 5* rating.

Staff From the moment we were seated in the lounge in front of the most spectacular view of the pool, beach and ocean we were made to feel like family Everyone greeted us by name and always with a warm smile. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we never wanted for anything during our entire 1 week stay. Yohana our butler was there when we arrived and was in contact with us many times a day through our stay. She is an absolute credit to the resort. Her infectious smile and bubbly personality made each day a joy. She would go above and far beyond what you expect from a butler. Whilst there we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and from the start of the day until sunset Yohana and the Shanti team gave us a day we will cherish forever. From the spectacular display created by housekeeping legend Mevin, to the delicious beach BBQ , celebration cake, table decorations and Yohana’s candlelit rose petal pathway to our rose petal filled bath. Thank you also to lovely Nikhil for his artistic rice decorations as well as his professional service throughout our stay. Always smiling and always checking we were ok.

Accommodation We stayed in the Oceanside villa with pool. I can highly recommend this because it is at the end of the resort and is extremely peaceful. You have your own pool with jacuzzi beds as well sun loungers on your terrace and dedicated loungers and umbrella on the beach. The villa itself is spacious and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities as well as a well stocked mini fridge with free non alcoholic beverages. The bathroom is very large with bath and shower cubicle. You also have an enclosed stunning outdoor shower. Not forgetting your own personal butler. The entire villa was cleaned spotlessly daily by Mevin and his wonderful team of housekeepers. Plenty of clean fresh fluffy bathroom and pool towels changed at least once if not twice a day.

Food Some of the best dishes I have ever eaten were served in the restaurants in the resort. There is so much choice and various international cuisines on offer. This is largely due to the culinary genius of Kevin the resort’s culinary director. His passion for a memorable food journey with every meal is clear to see. He is an ever presence in the dining areas ensuring his excellent team give every diner an experience they will not forget. There is no end to his talents which also includes bringing kitchen and bar together in a wonderful fusion resulting in innovative cocktails of the day.

Spa Luxuriously wonderful and peaceful. Highly talented masseurs offering a wide range of treatments.

In summary you will not be disappointed if you choose this paradise resort and will leave at the end of your stay like us, wanting to return time and time again.

A truly remarkable experience epitomised by exceptional food, service, accommodation and spa facilities. Food choice was extraordinary and it was impossible to make a bad choice. So many stand out individuals provided first rate service, but stand outs (I know I’ve missed some!) included Michel, Nikhil, Ayesha, Keshan, Lara and Vicky (who was also very knowledgeable about the wines on the menu) as well as the cocktail maker extraordinaire, Pritish. The excellent food and service was expertly brought together by the head chef Kevin Marchetti. His attention to detail and interaction with us was fantastic. The General Manager, Brice, was also highly attentive and it’s clear that his exceptional standards drive the quality of service at this superb hotel. We shall certainly return.
