There was a little confusion during check-in regarding what was and wasn’t included in our full-board package, but this was swiftly resolved by the team who came on duty that evening, so it didn’t detract too much from our stay.
The rooms are perhaps a little dated and could benefit from some modernisation. One thing that also surprised us was that there were no sun loungers or beach beds directly on the beach itself, with loungers positioned just before the beach instead. This was a little disappointing given the beautiful beachfront location.
However, what really made our stay special was the staff, particularly the chefs. The food was out of this world, and the culinary team went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary requirements. They prepared bespoke meals for us and took such wonderful care to ensure our little one was catered for too.
A massive thank you and shout-out to Chef Kolo, Chef Suraj, Chef Kunal and Chef Nawsheen for their exceptional hospitality. They really went the extra mile.
We’d also like to give a special shout-out to Melie from the front-of-house team, who was always so friendly and such a good sport with our daughter. Her warmth and kindness made us feel especially welcome as a family.
Finally, the Santosh Spa deserves a mention of its own. Both my wife and I had some of the best massages we’ve ever experienced, and a huge thank you to Preety for making it such a wonderful experience.
Overall, we had a wonderful family stay. Thank you to everyone at Tamassa for looking after us so well!
An exceptional stay in TAMASSA
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at TAMASSA. We were upgraded to a stunning ocean-view room on a higher floor (2nd), and it was incredible. The hotel’s beach is beautiful, and the entire property feels modern, fresh, and exceptionally well maintained. Beyond the excellent facilities, however, it was the team that truly created the atmosphere: everyone was remarkably warm, cheerful, and kind, and their outstanding hospitality elevated our stay to another level.
As vegan guests, we received truly premium treatment in the restaurant. At every meal, the chefs—and especially Edinho—were waiting for us and personally walked us through the different dishes, carefully explaining what we could eat. They also prepared special dishes just for us throughout our stay, including vegan pancakes and muffins! We felt genuinely cared for, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble.
Most importantly, the food was excellent. There was a wonderful selection of Indian and local Mauritian cuisine alongside Western options. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and impressively varied. Unlike the food at some other resorts we visited, it never felt industrial or mass-produced.
TAMASSA is a fantastic resort, but its exceptional team is what made our experience so special. Thank you again to Edinho and everyone at the hotel for making our stay so memorable!
Great time
Our stay at Tamassa was simply wonderful! All the staff were incredibly friendly, and we always had the feeling that everyone genuinely wanted to make sure all our wishes were fulfilled.
I would especially like to mention the waiters at the Playa Restaurant, who always made sure we had drinks while relaxing on the beach. A special thank you goes to Tirvesh, who made us feel very well taken care of. We were even offered a freshly prepared pizza outside of the regular snack hours, which was a lovely touch.
Our room was always very clean, and we felt comfortable throughout our entire stay. The food was delicious, varied and offered plenty of choice, especially at breakfast. I would also like to mention Sid, who regularly checked that everything was perfect and that we had everything we needed.
The boat activities were fantastic, and we enjoyed an amazing snorkelling trip as well as a wonderful boat ride. The beach is absolutely breathtaking, and the entire resort is beautifully maintained.
We also used the spa area every day. It was never too crowded, which made it incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. The massages were excellent, and the DJ and music created a great atmosphere.
We also really appreciated that our drink preferences were remembered by the waiters throughout our entire holiday. Whenever we requested a small adjustment to our drinks, our wishes were taken into account, and the staff remembered them even days later. This level of personal attention made us feel truly special.
I honestly cannot think of a single negative thing to say about our stay. Everything was wonderful, from the beautiful surroundings to the outstanding service and the incredibly friendly staff. We enjoyed every moment and would absolutely recommend Tamassa to anyone looking for a relaxing and unforgettable holiday. We would love to come back!
