The InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort spans over a breathtaking area on the island, offering magnificent views of the Bay of Balaclava. Situated to the north of Port-Louis, the capital city, the hotel is conveniently positioned within a 15-minute drive of the vibrant shopping, entertainment, and dining hub of Grand Baie. Additionally, it is just a 55-minute journey from Plaisance International Airport.
This resort offers fabulous views of the ocean and 210 elegant, functional, well-furnished and spacious rooms. Guests are welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services. Facilities include a hotel safe, currency exchange and a cloakroom. There is also a hairdressing salon, restaurants, bars, sports facilities, a games room, and a spa offering various treatments. For the younger guests, there is a children's playground and a kids' club. Cars, scooters and bicycles are all available to rent (hire fees apply) and the hotel's concierge is on hand to assist with any request.

Each room has an en suite bathroom with a shower, bath and a hairdryer. Rooms are furnished with double or king-size beds. Individually regulated air conditioning is a standard feature in all accommodation. Room upgrades are available at a fee. Amazing People Who Made Our Stay Special!
We’ve had such a lovely stay at the InterContinental Mauritius, but it’s the people who really make the difference, especially at the pool bar!
Manish has been absolutely brilliant, taking the time to get to know what we like and creating some fantastic cocktails just for us. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that personal touch made every visit to the bar special.
And Shouvick – what a legend! He’s constantly on the move, working incredibly hard all day, yet somehow always finds time for a smile, a chat and to make sure we’re looked after. His energy and kindness really stood out.
It’s people like Manish and Shouvick who turn a lovely holiday into a memorable one. We genuinely looked forward to seeing them each day. A huge thank you to them both!
A beautiful resort
A beautiful resort with absolutely stunning views. The facilities are clean, plentiful and beautifully decorated, and the whole resort feels very well cared for.
What really made our stay special, though, was the wonderful staff. Everyone we met was kind, helpful and responsive. At Senso restaurant, Sebestain was always on hand to greet us with a smile and helped make our stay so pleasant. All the staff at Senso were exceptional, including the brilliant omelette and crêpe team at breakfast!
We also received wonderful service from Ravindra throughout our stay. Ravindra was incredibly friendly, professional and understanding, and we really appreciated the care and attention shown to us.
The staff and activities at the kids' club were brilliant. We only started using the club towards the end of our holiday, but our boy really enjoyed it and always wanted to stay longer — which says it all!
Our room was lovely and cleaned daily by Hari, who was also exceptional. Hari was attentive and helpful whenever we needed anything and made sure our room was beautifully looked after throughout our stay.
A huge thank you to Sebestain, Ravindra, Hari and the whole team for helping make our holiday so enjoyable and memorable. A beautiful resort made even better by truly excellent service.

Best room given
I arrived today and have already had a wonderful experience! The room is excellent, clean, spacious, and comfortable, and everything has been well organized from the moment I arrived. A special mention goes to Drishti at the front desk, who was absolutely amazing, welcoming, friendly and very helpful.
