The InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort spans over a breathtaking area on the island, offering magnificent views of the Bay of Balaclava. Situated to the north of Port-Louis, the capital city, the hotel is conveniently positioned within a 15-minute drive of the vibrant shopping, entertainment, and dining hub of Grand Baie. Additionally, it is just a 55-minute journey from Plaisance International Airport.
This resort offers fabulous views of the ocean and 210 elegant, functional, well-furnished and spacious rooms. Guests are welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services. Facilities include a hotel safe, currency exchange and a cloakroom. There is also a hairdressing salon, restaurants, bars, sports facilities, a games room, and a spa offering various treatments. For the younger guests, there is a children's playground and a kids' club. Cars, scooters and bicycles are all available to rent (hire fees apply) and the hotel's concierge is on hand to assist with any request.
Your guestroom at InterContinental Mauritius:
Each room has an en suite bathroom with a shower, bath and a hairdryer. Rooms are furnished with double or king-size beds. Amenities include a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a radio, Internet access and a safe. A minibar, an ironing set and tea and coffee making facilities are also provided. Individually regulated air conditioning is a standard feature in all accommodation. Room upgrades are available at a fee. The hotel has 140 deluxe rooms, 20 of which have hot tubs and private roof terraces. As well as 40 family rooms and 10 duplex ocean suites complete with their own private hot tubs, terraces and balconies, all beautifully designed for guests to relax and make the most of the stunning views of the Indian Ocean.

Great hotel destination
Amazing hotel and the staff were great all so friendly and helpful, offering great food recommendations and making us custom drinks Manish and Swaraj helping out a lot by the pool and in the reception. The staff all have great memories too remembering our room numbers and dietary and drink requirements and favourites.
Stay and hospitality
Good hospitality Good food. Special mention to our chef JAYWANTEE who was very sweet and polite to us. Everyday she came personally to us with a big smile that was very kind of her!

A Beautiful Resort with Exceptional F&B Hospitality
InterContinental Mauritius is a stunning, expansive and exceptionally well-maintained resort on the north-west coast of Mauritius. Located about an hour from the airport, it offers a beautiful beachfront setting and spectacular sunsets over the Indian Ocean.
Our sea-facing room was beautiful, with the views being one of the highlights of the stay. The resort has two pools, a good selection of activities and an impressive dining offering, with three speciality restaurants and a multi-cuisine restaurant. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, and the F&B service throughout our stay was excellent.
From the location, ambience, amenities and overall cleanliness, this is easily one of the best resorts we have stayed at. 10/10.
A small note for Indian travellers: if you are particular about your morning ginger or masala chai, carry your preferred tea or premix. 😊
There were a couple of areas where the service could be more polished. Check-in was slower than expected, and the front desk experience could have been more professional. Ishrat, the Front Office Manager, stepped in personally and handled the situation very well, which was much appreciated.
Housekeeping could also be more responsive. We had an issue with the curtain remote, and it took around three days to have the battery replaced.

A very special thank you to Mr. Nandan Parab, Director – F&B, whose warmth, professionalism and attention to detail made our stay even more enjoyable. Our almost-daily conversations were a real pleasure, and his proactive approach truly stood out.

Your warmth, attentiveness and genuine hospitality made our stay memorable. You were simply outstanding.
