The InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort spans over a breathtaking area on the island, offering magnificent views of the Bay of Balaclava. Situated to the north of Port-Louis, the capital city, the hotel is conveniently positioned within a 15-minute drive of the vibrant shopping, entertainment, and dining hub of Grand Baie. Additionally, it is just a 55-minute journey from Plaisance International Airport.
This resort offers fabulous views of the ocean and 210 elegant, functional, well-furnished and spacious rooms. Guests are welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services. Facilities include a hotel safe, currency exchange and a cloakroom. There is also a hairdressing salon, restaurants, bars, sports facilities, a games room, and a spa offering various treatments. For the younger guests, there is a children's playground and a kids' club. Cars, scooters and bicycles are all available to rent (hire fees apply) and the hotel's concierge is on hand to assist with any request.

Each room has an en suite bathroom with a shower, bath and a hairdryer. Rooms are furnished with double or king-size beds. Amenities include a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a radio, Internet access and a safe. A minibar, an ironing set and tea and coffee making facilities are also provided. Individually regulated air conditioning is a standard feature in all accommodation. Room upgrades are available at a fee. When reaching the hotel, it’ was not that nice since we had issue on parking with the staff who give us the parking. Dress in blue shirt and pantaloon. However Mr Allan stepped up and helped us a lot. Thanks to him. Then, we had an amazing experience inside the hotel due to Mrs Aditi help. She’s a very good staff and very customers focused. She manage to do everything she can for us. And everything was perfect. Thanks to Mrs Aditi & Mr Allan
Beautiful Stay with Exceptional Hospitality
Had a wonderful stay at InterContinental Mauritius! The property is beautiful, well maintained, and the service was exceptional. The staff was professional, warm, and always helpful. A special thanks to Sookesh, Chef Surya, and Night Manager Deepak Nehelwa for making our stay even more memorable.
My friend and I were on a girls’ trip, and we felt comfortable and safe throughout our stay. Highly recommend this hotel, and we’d love to come back!

We’ve just spent 10 days at the InterContinental Mauritius as a family, and from start to finish we had an amazing holiday.
The rooms were luxurious, spacious and immaculately clean, and the entire resort was impeccably maintained. Everywhere you looked, the gardens, pools and facilities were spotless, which really reflected the pride the staff take in the hotel.
The standout feature, however, was the people. Every member of staff we encountered was genuinely warm, friendly and eager to help. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and their hospitality made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our stay.
The food was excellent, with plenty of variety, and the speciality restaurants were outstanding. Every meal felt like a real occasion, and we looked forward to dining each evening.
A special thank you to Manish and Ravindra at the daytime pool bar. They were an absolute credit to the hotel, always greeting us with a smile, remembering our drinks and making every visit enjoyable. We’d also like to mention Jasson in the coffee bar, who made the best flat white every single day—it became part of our morning routine!
If I had one minor criticism, it would be the policy on arrival day. We arrived at around 9am but couldn’t access the all-inclusive food, drinks or Wi-Fi until 3pm. Considering the cost of the holiday, that did seem a little disappointing. However, the hotel kindly arranged temporary internet access and allowed us to use the spa facilities while we waited, which certainly helped. Drinks were available for purchase.
Aside from that, we genuinely have nothing negative to say. This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable family holidays we’ve had, and we left with wonderful memories.
We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would happily recommend the InterContinental Mauritius to anyone looking for a luxurious resort with fantastic facilities, excellent food and, above all, outstanding hospitality.
