The resort is beautiful and the size is just right. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and very helpful, especially Anisha, who was exceptional and made our stay even more enjoyable. The food was varied and delicious, and I would definitely recommend staying here.
Don’t miss the waterfalls and monkeys tour, and make sure to bring some bananas for the monkeys – it’s a fun experience! I also recommend trying the diving activities and enjoying the water sports. Finally, don’t forget to visit the local mall for some shopping, as it’s definitely worth a visit.
Great hotel, rooms directly out onto the beach. Fantastic housekeeping. Good choice of restaurants and our butler was just perfect. Always on hand when we needed but not intrusive. I suffered with a tooth abscess whilst there and the medical care I received was unbelievable. The doctor came to see me 3 times and messaged every day to check on me. He even messaged when I was back home! A great place to go to relax and do nothing. Would love to return.
A special thank you to Dr. Hujjaree and the team at Shangri-La Mauritius.
Falling ill while traveling can be stressful, but the care, professionalism, and kindness I received made all the difference. Dr. Hujjaree was attentive, reassuring, and genuinely caring from the moment he arrived. His calm approach and thorough care helped me feel much better and gave me confidence that I was in good hands.
I would also like to thank Shangri-La for providing such excellent support to their guests. The level of care and attention I received was truly appreciated.
Thank you again for turning a difficult situation into a positive experience.
Highly recommended.
My son and I came to Mauritius looking for some much-needed escapism and MY GOD did this place deliver!
First off, this resort is bewitchingly beautiful! The lush greenery of all the gardens and orchards (be sure to visit the Il Giardino and Tortoise Cove) give off the feeling of being in a rainforest. This will only be reinforced even more if you're lucky enough to see the fruit bats flying around in the early morning or evening! The beaches are impeccable; they just beg you to get in the water. Though be warned, for those with sensitive feet, the sand is a bit coarse and littered with seashells and corals so it would be best to pack a pair of crocs or rubber shoes. Each class of room (Hibiscus, Coral, Frangipani etc.) has its own private beach so you needn't worry about overcrowding. We stayed in a Frangipani Beachfront suite and were greeted with the most amazing sunrise on our first morning at the resort! It really is worth getting up in the morning to watch the sunrise at this place. My son also implores you to walk to the Ile d'Armour and watch the sunrise from there; you will not regret it!
Secondly, the room: the aforementioned Frangipani Beachfront suite. Spacious, luxurious with a super comfortable bed and gorgeous view of the beach and ocean. And if you're really bored it even has an internet-connected flat screen TV. Just a wonderful place to come back to after a long day outdoors. We also loved the complimentary wine, desserts and James Hilton novel!
Thirdly, the food. An abundance of quality and quantity. There's something for everyone at Shangri-La: Kushi, Sega, Saffran, Coco's, the Îlot Mangenie. Whatever you like, they probably have it. And if you don't like eating à la carte style, there's always the buffet at TSK that offers a rich variety of delicacies (dinner on Roast Night is a must). But for us, we fell in love with Coco's Beach House. The food, location and service were just unmatched. A big thank you to Martine, Kush, Antoine, Aukhez and the rest of the team for making it so.
Fourth and finally, the service. Never in my many years of traveling have I met a more dedicated, welcoming, helpful and polite service staff. Their consummate professionalism runs right across the board. From the masseuses at Chi who gave me those soul-refreshing spa treatments (I felt like a reptile shedding its old skin every time I walked out of there) to Kieran and his team managing our laundry, to the restaurant staff, cleaners (a shout out to Deepak) and drivers (and to you Parwez). And to all those amazing guys and girls at concierge and reception, who were able to put up and deal with any nonsense we threw at them with grace and patience 😉. A special thank you to Ana, Queen and the rest of the team for always having the answers when we needed them most. And a very VERY special thank you to the fantastic Frau by the name of Dana! From the moment she checked us in to the moment we checked out, she went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. Danke, Dana!
What more can I say? This place is pretty much perfect and we will be sure to come back soon!
This was our 9th visit to this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husband’s retirement. This hotel will always have a special place in our hearts as it was our honeymoon hotel. We stayed in a Frangipani room, which was a gorgeous room with the most amazing view in a beautiful area of the hotel. The attention to detail & customer service has never wavered in all our stays which is what keeps us returning year after year! All staff made us feel welcome and it’s hard to single people out but we would just like to mention a few who made our stay extra special: The boat guys - Aldo & Jocelyn lovely to see your friendly faces again. We loved our boat trips to the island and golf courses.. Jessica-thanks for your amazing welcome and for looking after us fusing our stay. We’d also like to thank Roshun & Mateo for looking after us so well during the cocktail happy hour at Cocos-we loved watching the sun set whilst sipping our delicious drinks. It was also lovely to see Ponnen at Cocos - such a lovely guy who always looks after us so well. Also great to catch up with Rakesh in the restaurants. Rivan in the lobby/entance (plus all the concierge staff) - thanks for always welcoming us with a smile. Ilot Mangenie - great service and so special having a beautiful private island at the hotel Our room maid (sorry we didn’t catch your name) - our room was always spotless. The food, as ever, was delicious in all the restaurants. We had 2 massages each in the spa - they were fabulous as always-thanks to the lovely ladies who gave us our massages. As ever, the hotel, island and golf courses were amazing and we hope to return for a 10th visit in the future. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel. Thanks again to all for an amazing stay.
