We had been upgraded to a family room. The room was very nice. Thanks a lot to Mr Ajay and receptionist Meghna. We also got complimentary sparkling wine and fruit platter in room, all thanks to Mr Ajay Bheekharry. The bellboy Akshay offered a perfumed towel ( the perfum was same as that of the Radisson Blu hotels) which refreshed us and we loved it. Vikram also helped me with my luggage upon checkout. The food was much better compared to before the revamping. The lamb curry of the buffet was superb as well as the shrimp chicken curry in the à la carte menu. All the menus of the à la carte was very good, meticulously and lovingly prepared by chef aujayeb. Deepak looked after us well with shirley temple cocktails and mojitos. Steeven and Jay served us well. Jameeta also looked after us well. Alexia and Jeshan offered us nice drinks at the bar. Raquel from Boathouse offered us a nice glass bottom trip. One request: please don't neglect the 3 assets of the hotel, the heated pool, the java nightclub and aqualand. We were disappointed when we saw that the heated pool was neglected and the java nighclub was closed. Hopefully, we would repeat our stay on 20th nov when aqualand will open up again.
The hotel have better customer service concerning their accommodations, good food and beverages and excellent activities, I have been going there for many years and this hotel improve a lot that is great. My experience was always good there with no regret.
It's over a year since we stayed here but, having seen It's bring advertised on more travel companies sites, I feel compelled to right an honest review. Firstly, the rooms are fine, although a little dated. Room services are hit and miss, often coming back to the room late afternoon to find it had not been cleaned. The beach and pool areas are lovely and always plenty of beds. The main issue is the amount of customers they allow in, this hotel is trying to be everything for everyone and is failing to all. We were there for 2 weeks all inc. On top of this they have people visiting for 2/3 days plus day visitors. You can wait an extremely long time to get served at the bar as there is not enough staff and all the restaurants are chaotic. Tables are dirty, no one removes used plates, cutlery, glasses etc and, if they do, the tables themselves are not cleaned. The food is poor quality and, as there are so many people in, they cannot keep up with demand and it looks as though 2 dozen raccoons have been in and ravaged the place. We went out to eat mainly, especially in the second week, not really what you expect from an all inc holiday. Customer service from reception duty manager was also unacceptable. We spoke to reception around 4 days before we were due to leave to request to keep our room on the last day due to a late flight. Obviously, we were expecting to pay for this. We were told to come back the day before our departure day and, although our room may not be available, we would be able to have a room on a day rate, which was fine. We went the day before to be told by the duty manager the hotel was at capacity and there were no rooms available. We explained we'd asked previously and was told there were rooms available, he said they had since sold the rooms. Had we been told at the time there was a possibility the rooms could sell out, we would have booked one then. However, we could use the communal showers and there were lockers available to leave clean clothes and valuables in, we just needed to go to reception in the morning. So, next morning we go to secure a locker to leave everything safe while we went to the beach only to be told by the same duty manager there were no lockers as previous guests had taken all the keys!! Every single key for every single locker!! We were extremely frustrated by all of this, but he couldn't care one jot, and made that very clear. This was our 3rd visit to Mauritius so, my advice to anyone would be to avoid this hotel at all costs, there are much much better (and less expensive) hotels on this beautiful island.
It was an amazing experience given our value for money. We stayed for 9 nights and:
-pools and the beach were clean and constantly being taken care of -the room was also clean, we didn’t have any issues, in case of any questions the front desk was always helpful. The decoration may not be the most modern but it wasn’t too important to us. -there was enough activities on site to keep us entertained. Tennis court, pétanque, water slides, various free of charge water activities from the Papa’s Dream office located right on the beach. The staff on site took part and organised many contests, lessons and was always fun to be around - big thank you to Lucca, Avnish and Yovan 🫡 -Papas Dream also organises the five islands tour that was a lot of fun, I really recommend it -we walked around and our beach was by far the nicest one
We were there almost 2 weeks in August/Sepyember. 2 adults, 2 children 11,8 yrs. From the begining a nice welcome at the lobby, fast accomodation, very helpfull staff on many questuons, not even connected wit the hitel itself. We were under an impression of service everywhere, from the frontdesk to restaurants and facilities, like SPA - which I recommend much, its a must - completing the while stay in this „paradiae like”place. Very large rooms, comfortable, cleaned every day, minibar filled daily, included. Food in restaurants - plenty of everything, tasty, niclely served. I recommend giant prawnes & lobster from a’la carte restaurants, delicious & pretty served. My kods had lot of food to choose, they tasted most of the dishes, nit only pasta & pizza, which are on a daily basis for demanding children ;) I would like to give special thanks to guys on boat booth and diving center, they made a good recomendatiins for facultitave trips, which I enjoyed the most. And do t forget about having a massage there, I will write it once more, worth definitelly. People of Mauritius - you are amazing and you do magnificent job there, not spotyed elsewhere.
