- Ambre A Sun Resort

Ambre - a Sun Resort Mauritius is a chic hotel with some fabulous amenities. Sleek, modern décor, irresistible beach location and exceptional spa, swimming pool and restaurants, it's worth every one of its four stars.
There are so many highlights... the incredible 750-metre long white sandy beach is breath-taking. The sheltered bay of warm azure water is beguiling. Then there's the tropical lagoon. And the spa, and so much natural beauty at every turn.
The Ambre Mauritius plays its part too. It's a beautiful looking hotel. You'll see that in lots of ways - the incredible swimming pool and the stylish Coral Bar for example. But you'll see it in smaller ways too: in every perfectly chosen feature and detail in every room.
And talking of the rooms... Rooms are air-conditioned with a balcony or terrace. In-room facilities include flat-screen satellite tv, safe, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, telephone, hairdryer and FREE Wi-Fi. Each room has a welcome surprise from dreamy bathrooms to cocktails kits also a farewell gift of a freshly baked cookie. A selection of room upgrades is available for a supplement.
Equal attention is given to the amenities you'll enjoy throughout the hotel. From the tennis courts to the fitness centre to the spa. And the restaurants are exceptional. Each has its own look and style; each will tempt you with some of the best flavours Mauritian gastronomy has to offer.
This really is a resort where your needs come first. So make the most of your stay; make the most of Mauritius.
The 4-star Ambre, a Sun Resort Mauritius, located on the east coast of the island at Palmar, is a chic, adults-only hotel with an irresistible beachfront location and exceptional spa, swimming pool and restaurants. The hotel boasts an incredible 750-metre long white sandy beach which runs along a sheltered bay, perfect for swimming, whilst divers can explore the diverse sea life in the adjacent tropical lagoon.
Stayed for 12 nights. Staff were friendly and polite. The beach was great with fish visible up to shore line and sheltered from any wind. We enjoyed having long walks on the beach (we always took pool shoes, as it got gritty in parts away from the hotel). All the bar staff were great, especially Siham at the H&H sports bar. We went to La Plage and the Dolce Vita on the evening a few times, the food was spot on and the restaurant staff were great (especially Kam at La Plage). Watersports were free, so we did the pedalo and glass bottom boat ride. We had breakfast in the buffet each day which was good (fresh omelettes). Whenever you walked around the hotel, the staff smiled and said hello and made you feel welcome. We booked the 5 islands tour with McCloud, who was an old guy who popped by the beach every day or so. He was chilled out and never pushy. However there was this other guy called Chris from another trip company who was a pest. He must have asked me 7 times on one day to book a trip with him. I watched him stand over a family pressuring them to book with him. The hotel would do well to tell Chris to leave paying hotel guests alone, you don’t need to atgue with a salesman when you’re trying to relax. If I had to pick a couple of negatives for the hotel to improve: The reception staff weren’t the most useful. The girl who greeted us when we arrived, just seemed to want to get rid of us. When we spoke to her again about any issues, she didn’t seem interested. It rained a couple of times whilst we were there and the tiles around the pool and accommodation were like an ice rink. I fell over twice, and we spoke to a guy who cracked his head slipping over near his accommodation. We were in block 8 and half the time our minibar was empty, even though we put orders in every day. Not sure if it wasn’t getting filled, or someone was emptying it? Don’t know why it doesn’t automatically fill it every day. Small negatives aside, we had a great time.
Fantastic location, the most friendly welcoming staff, amazing food and service at the buffet and both restaurants, bar staff great. A brilliant experience, can’t recommend highly enough.
Nicoletta was really nice and her kindness made our stay even better. She took care of us really well. Room was nice Everything was clean. Food was good Really nice atmosphere Location of the hotel was nice Value for money Definitely recommended It was calm, no noise
Getaan did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and I honestly couldn't have been happier with the result.
She was so lovely and calming throughout the whole morning, which really helped as I got more and more nervous before the ceremony.
At first, I was a little skeptical about having my makeup done because I normally only wear mascara and a bit of bronzer. But she listened to exactly what I wanted and did such a beautiful job. It still felt like me, just a little more special for my wedding day. I was 100% happy with it, and my husband absolutely loved it too.
My hair was perfect. I showed her a few photos of hairstyles I liked, and she created exactly what I had imagined. She even found fresh flowers for my hair because I hadn't brought any, but the inspiration photos included them. That was such a thoughtful touch and something I really appreciated.
Thank you so much, Getaan, for your amazing work and for helping make my wedding day even more special. I'll definitely add some photos once we receive our wedding pictures!
Fantastic experience, really relaxing from the start to the end. Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were great and we had these facilities all to ourselves. We weren’t rushed by the staff at all. The location of the massages is beautiful. Drishtina and Yovina did a wonderful job, and both myself and my friend said it was one of th best massages we’ve ever had!
