We stayed at the wonderful Mercure Kooddoo and couldn’t be happier with our choice. Every staff member was friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The food options were amazing and drinks constantly flowing. We stayed in the Overwater Sunset Villa, lovely scene every morning/evening su sets and a a few steps to the ocean for swimming and snorkelling.
The staff turned a beautiful resort into an unforgettable stay
We had for a 2-night stay at Mercure Kooddoo and left feeling like we’d been there a week — in the best way. The island itself is gorgeous, but what really sets this place apart is the people.
At Vista restaurant, Joanne was incredibly friendly and accommodating at every meal — she remembered our preferences and always made us feel looked after.
The Suvadiva dive center team deserves a special shoutout. Eduard and Jabrisha took such good care of us — we saw SO many dolphins, and my husband even spotted sharks during his guided snorkeling. An absolute highlight of the trip.
Vineeth organized a sunset yoga session for us that I’m still thinking about. Doing yoga with the sun setting behind you and the ocean as your playlist — no speaker needed — was truly one of the most beautiful, relaxing experiences we’ve had anywhere.
And then there’s Ali and Ksennia, who went above and beyond with a birthday surprise for my husband. They even greeted him randomly with flowers. Small things that meant so much.

RELAXATION OVER ADVENTURE
The Overwater Bure was well appointed. And the all inclusive package was great. We had indulged an upgrade expecting a private pool as depicted in the image on the booking site only to be dissapointed as we did not get a pool. We felt like we had the place to ourselves as at most we saw 6 other couples. If your adventurous there is not much to do here. There werent many excursions available or opportunities for a cultural experience ( they had a Maldivian themed dinner and cooking class also coconut tree climbing to 5ft) Activities ran for 30min to 1hr. I did a boat snorkelling trip for $150aud only 1hr snorkelling in 1 spot. The home reef was 100% better and the highlight of my trip. I would reccomend this as a wind down on the way home for 3 days after a trip travvelling India/Sri Lanka.
Incredible!
An incredible destination! It really is picture perfect. It was everything you imagine the Maldives to be. Stunning water, snorkeling off your back deck onto the most stunning house reef, swimming with turtles, dolphins, sharks, and the most helpful and friendly staff. We had an amazing time in Villa 514.
Picturesque and Serene!
We absolutely loved us stay here each and every bit of it. The reef snorkelling is the most incredible snorkelling we’ve ever done! I 100% recommend if are looking for the ultimate relaxation and the best snorkelling. The accommodation was clean and picturesque and the water was magical you could see sharks and spotted eagle Ray just from your villa. Sandeep and Shubham, were super attentive and accommodating to our every need. Naveen, Manvi, Poppy and Deepak were incredible with their service. Wil from the dive Centre helped us with our every need regarding where to snorkel what to see and booking our cruise trips. Looking forward to our next visit again!
