Nice Hotel , close to Beach and shops ,,,
I would highly recommend this hotel . It is located conveniently at the very top of the oludeniz strip. Its restaurant nice and easy has very nice food and we ate there twice for an evening meal and the breakfast was very good too although mainly turkish based they do have an ommelette station, without that we may have struggled. There is a sok supermarket directly across the road from the hotel which was very handy. The hotel is set in immaculately manicured gardens which we had a view of along with babadag from our balcony . It was a beautiful view to wake up to each morning . After breakfast we would sit in this beautiful relaxing little area with sofas and coffee tables and the sound of water fountains, this area is between the restaurant and the gardens. The pool area doesn't really cater to children unless you have a baby or a young toddler so may not be for you. There is no kids club or kids entertainment ( the only entertainment is a couple of nights a week in the restaurant, usually a singer) no pool slides or lifeguards but they do have a very very small splash pool which I'd recommend taking your own kids toys in too (There is a small slide in the garden but not a pool slide) The pool area is lovely and has beds in the pool to sunbathe on, it also has a jacuzzi but most of the jets do not work so don't expect too many bubbles!
I really like the chilled vibe here and the fact that it feels more like an adults hotel. The manager mehmet is a lovely man who always checks up on guests when he see you and always had a great big smile on his face!
There are various different types of room at this hotel and you need to be careful when booking as there are 4 karbel hotels in the area, two of which are next door so make sure you book the karbel sun hotel oludeniz and not karbel beach hotel etc. We got a superior room as I'd seen they have standard (basement type) rooms which were very dated but I wish I'd gone for a large superior as our room was quite small but the balcony was tiny and we couldn't both sit comfortably on it , there was no room for a table either only 2 chairs. The room itself was decorated nicely in a shabby chic style. I'd have liked led lighting around the bathroom mirror but that's a minor thing and the bed was so comfortable we slept like babys for 2 weeks. Shower was also very good. Kettle and safe in room and complimentary slippers! There was also a very small TV on the wall but we didn't use it. All in all amazing value for what your getting as it cost us £1300 for flights and 2weeks b&b for 2 of us!!!
Would definitely go again but choose the slightly bigger superior room in order to have a larger balcony or even indulge in one of their posh themed rooms with a hot tub on the balcony. These are located above the restaurant next to their beautiful reception area. All in all a fantastic hotel and we never go below a 4 star so we were pleasantly surprised with this 3 star and not surprised they were in the top 3 of best hotels in oludeniz!!!
When we arrived, we were checked in through the car park into a room in the corner of a block that I can only describe as dark, dingy and depressing. With a tiny double bed, one single pillow and warm air blowing out of the air-conditioning. The balcony barely fitted a single plastic chair, you had to slide around the open door so you could close it again, it was that small. When you open the door to the balcony if you can call it that, think large windowsill with anticlimb bars. The entire room shuts down, the Aircon shuts down, you have to lock the door and start everything back up again when you come back in. The shower was in a terrible state of disrepair, with a disgusting rusty tap and shower hose situation with the showerhead completely cracked and broken. The showers are not really suitable for anyone above about 5’5. I complained immediately, I was told the air-conditioning was normal for Turkey, I quickly corrected them and told them the Hotel we moved from up the road had perfectly cold air-conditioning. (Sadly couldn’t stay there as they were fully booked). I was told to stay the night and the management would sort out Rooms in the morning. This is where it all went wrong. The manager showed me a number of Rooms in the morning. Finally finding a room that actually looks like something they advertise on their website and Booking.com. A king bed, standard balcony and a standard bathroom. I agreed that we would move to this room on our return that afternoon, after we had been out for the day. On my return, I’m told that the room agreed on, is not available but they’ve found another room that is the same. The room was not the same. It had two small single beds and a gap the size of a very small sideboard in the middle. Quite frankly looked like the staff quarters, think old caravan holiday style, shuffle sideways between the 2 beds. Not a room they advertise either.
We told them we would be leaving. Magically the room they showed me earlier in the day, that I’d agreed to, became available at an extra cost. By this point, my husband had had enough of packing and unpacking and messing around with managers that couldn’t make decisions and we left. The management are slow and indecisive. And even after all that we’ve been through, could not stick to what we had agreed earlier that day. Booking.com and their own website offer a variation of Rooms, however the outdated Rooms with the terrible tiny bathrooms are not displayed, and there is a serious issue with false advertising. Breakfast was okay at a push, the coffee wasn’t really coffee, the fried eggs were black because the pan was dirty. But the fruit and the bread was fresh. I would not return.
Firstly let me start by saying the hotel is nice the reception area is pleasant and the pool area is comfortable. Bar and restaurant staff are friendly and helpful breakfast has plenty of choice and there is a nice atmosphere .unfortunately for us I booked a large superior double room and as described on there website have a magnificent garden or pool view. Well as there were 2 couples we could compare the 2 rooms and our was most definitely not a large double with a magnificent view , when I spoke to the receptionist to explain this rooms was not what we booked she laughed at us and told us to come back next day and speak to the manager which I did but he was no better . He told us he would sort another room in the next couple of days but this went on for the 9 days we were there and we were never moved . We knew it was not the room we booked because the other couples room was a lot larger with more furniture and a pool view where as we could barley pass each other in the room and had a veiw of the roof of the hotel next door with a balcony barely big enough for a chair (see pictures). Having paid for a large double we were clearly given a standard double which is not what i expect. It's a shame because this will stop me from staying at this hotel again and everything else is nice
A beautiful traditional hotel great staff half board option is brilliant, can’t recommend this hotel enough
