Garcia Resort and Spa

We’ve just got back and can honestly say the hotel was literally like fawlty towers! We had a jacuzzi room and the smell from the drains was horrific so much so I went and bought my own bleach which the maid then stole and when I asked for it to be replaced they returned the empty bottle she had used up! We were woken up 3 mornings in a row before 8am not ideal when trying to relax on holiday, twice by reception calling confusing us with other guests and on the third occasion by security and two armed police men braying on the door at 7am again reception gave them the wrong room number and confused myself and my partner with other guests who had caused havoc all night! The same guests in question had seemed to have some sort of altercation and smashed something and injured one of themselves, there was blood all over the floor in the corridor and around the poolside which was not cleaned for the whole time my partner and I were still at the hotel (see images which were taken 4 days after the incident!). That’s a biohazard and shows the sheer lack of cleanliness. We had towels replaced that were dirty and our electric tripped everyday. There was a bad thunder storm during our stay and when we returned to our room after a day in the spa, the maid had left our balcony door open which flooded our room.

We complained multiple times and never once got an apology, we were offered a room change from our tour operator but the hotel manager stated he’d never spoken with them and couldn’t offer a room change. I would honestly avoid at all costs! If you can still, change do it! It’s barely 3 stars!

Never been so relieved to leave a hotel! Absolute disgrace advertising as a 5 stars, I’d struggle to give it even 2 stars. Hotel is run down and absolutely filthy, with not enough staff to deal with guests. All inclusive is a joke as no snacks or food available other than breakfast and dinner which is a nightmare due to the volume of guests and lack of catering and wait staff. However this may have been a blessing as the food was barely edible with the poorest quality ingredients and had to survive on pasta and sauce and chips and bread and butter. Only plus is the location and the cocktails as the pina colada was nice. Most steps were broken, lifts were often not working, no entertainment and I can not convey how dirty it was and the smell of sewage from the bathroom was disgusting. Avoid at all costs!

I like to be positive and look for the best in any situation. However there is nothing I can really say positive about the Garcia Resort & Spa. Int is very tired and needs a complete refurbishment from top to bottom. The star rating is a joke its a 1 star and that is being generous. The entertainment is none existent, karaoke and bingo most nights is poor at best, the entertainment manager is so lack lustre and disinterested it was embarrassing. The food is atrocious, it was never hot we were lucky if it was even warm. They had fish on every night that tasted like it had come out of the Leeds & Liverpool canal it was putrid! They never had a cooked meat to be carved any evening just pizza and chicken it was like a buffet for children, Every night there were tables full of dirty crockery as they don't have enough staff to clear them. Dining became a standing joke we called it going for S O S - 'Same old S H one T!" The second night after we arrived they ran out off bourbon so my all inclusive was drastically reduced. All in all it was extremely disappointing. My only advise is don't book - find some alternative, anyone who goes after reading this will be wasting there money. I can only sum up by saying this has put my wife and I off all inclusive holidays and Turkey, period!!
