We’re currently staying at the Blue Bay Platinum in Marmaris and wanted to leave a review while we’re still here.
First of all, the hotel is spotlessly clean and the food has been fantastic. I’m a very fussy eater, so that’s always one of the biggest things for me, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality every day.
Turkey isn’t as cheap as it was years ago, but it’s certainly not expensive either. Prices have changed everywhere, and it’s worth remembering that the local people are simply trying to make a living, just like the rest of us.
The highlight of our holiday has definitely been the spa. On our first day, my husband and I booked the Turkish bath and massage, and wow… it was absolutely incredible! We were treated by Melli and Eka, and they genuinely know their stuff. It was honestly the best massage we ever had It was so good that we’ve already booked another one before we fly home!
A special thank you as well to the lovely gentleman who welcomed us, showed us around the spa and explained all the treatments (I’m so sorry I didn’t catch your name) and to Omar, the “Big Sheriff,” who looked after us so well throughout our stay.
Thank you all for making our holiday so special. We would definitely recommend the Blue Bay Platinum and can’t wait to come back.
Great hotel with great staff Alex at the hotel in adult pool was always welcoming and never seemed unhappy considering the amount of customers he serves on a daily basis great guy with a great attitude hotel itself no complaints
Great clean hotel family oriented but we came as a couple and they have 3 pools one of which is a relax adults only pool which was bliss and special mention to Alex the barman who works there as he made me and my wife feel very welcome and a credit to your hotel rooms have been spotless and cleaned with fresh towels the workers work there socks of and couldn’t fault the hotel breakfast and lunch can’t complain not tried dinner here as been eating out most nights but I expect to be of same standard so all in all great hotel
If I am being honest, this is not a luxury 5-star hotel, but it is definitely a great 5-star family resort. The facilities are great and very clean, and the entertainment is full-on until 11:30 PM. I would definitely recommend it for a family holiday. However, because it is advertised as a 5-star property, there are a few areas that could be improved. The front desk reception service was disappointing and unhelpful at times; for instance, when I asked for a bottle of water, the receptionist ( She )bluntly just said 'NO'. Additionally, the gym should have a water dispenser, and the Wi-Fi range in our room was next to none. Overall, though, it is a great hotel. I would especially like to give a shout-out to a few standout staff members. At the adult pool area, Alex and his team put in endless effort to keep everything in order, staying friendly while providing great drinks service. The other gentleman working alongside Alex is also an incredibly hard worker, constantly making sure the sunbeds and tables are ready for guests, brushing away leaves, and drying the wet floors. Another staff member who deserves recognition is Fidan from the restaurant team. Her experience shines through; she is hard-working, friendly, and does an excellent job guiding the younger staff members. She definitely deserves to be a supervisor! of course the house keeping staff were friendly and helpful.
Extremely Disappointing Stay
I arrived at Blue Bay Hotel Marmaris today with my wife and child, and unfortunately, our experience has been the worst we've ever had at this hotel.
The problems started immediately after check-in. Our room had no hot water and the air conditioning was not working. We contacted reception five times over the course of an hour before a technician finally came. He managed to fix the hot water, but for the air conditioner he simply cleaned the filters and told us it would start working within an hour. It never did.
My wife then went to reception to report that the problem was still unresolved, but the staff there seemed unwilling to believe us. Eventually, the manager, Murad, came to our room personally to inspect the unit. To his credit, he was polite, professional, and respectful. He confirmed that the air conditioner was indeed faulty.
We were then given three options:
After a long journey, this was the last thing my family needed. Instead of relaxing, we spent hours chasing reception and waiting for maintenance.
What made the experience even more disappointing was that I stayed at this hotel several years ago, and it was excellent. Sadly, the quality has declined dramatically.
I also noticed that the air conditioning in the lobby wasn't working either. One of the reception staff was using a handheld fan because it was so hot, which says a lot about the current condition of the hotel.
To make matters worse, I requested a second room key at reception, and my request was simply refused without any reasonable explanation.
Not every member of the staff was unfriendly—Murad, the manager, handled the situation professionally and deserves recognition for his attitude and honesty. However, the overall level of service, maintenance, and guest care has been extremely poor.
I still have five days remaining in my stay, and I sincerely hope they pass quickly because this has been a very disappointing start to what was supposed to be a family vacation.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning to Blue Bay Hotel Marmaris, nor would I recommend it unless significant improvements are made.
