Good

Overall, I had a very good stay and would recommend the hotel, especially for families.

The main downside for me was the location. When booking, the hotel is advertised as being in Bodrum, but it isn’t actually in Bodrum itself, which I think could be made much clearer when booking.

Other than that, the hotel itself is really lovely and very family-friendly. The rooms are a good size and generally comfortable, although some of the furniture does feel a little cheap. For example, my daughter opened one of the drawers and the handle actually snapped off in her hand. Thankfully, she wasn’t hurt, but it was a little disappointing.

The hotel was clean throughout, and the staff were all polite and friendly, which made the stay enjoyable.

The food was okay overall, but I do think there could be a little more variety. We found that some of the meals were very similar or repeated quite often, so changing the menu up more regularly would definitely improve the experience.

Overall, though, we had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time here. With a few small improvements, particularly with the food variety and room furniture, I think this could be an even better hotel for families.

Exceptional Service, Warm Hospitality, and a Fantastic Stay!

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Hotel Esra Family Suites, and I cannot speak highly enough of the entire team. From start to finish, the staffand the lovely guests we met along the way made our trip truly special with their kindness, professionalism, and incredible hospitality.

As one of the very few ethnic minority families staying at the resort, we felt completely welcomed, valued, and respected by every single member of the staff. While we occasionally noticed stares and whispers from other guests, the hotel staff treated us with total equality, warmth, and genuine care throughout our stay. We were also lucky enough to connect with some lovely, friendly guests during our time here, which made the experience even brighter.

The reception staff were fantastic from the moment we arrived always friendly, super helpful, efficient, and ready to answer any questions with a smile.

A huge, special thank you to our coach transfer driver who demonstrated extraordinary kindness by turning back for when my sister forgot her phone. That level of care and helpfulness is rare and was deeply appreciated.

Our room was kept spotless, but what touched us most was finding a sweet "safe journey" note left by our cleaning lady on our last day. It was such a thoughtful, personal touch.

The whole dining, bar and management team worked tirelessly. The food was absolutely amazing with a delicious, fresh variety cooked every single day. The drinks were fantastic great teas, coffees, lattes, hot chocolates, and a great selection of cocktails throughout the day (with late-night drinks after 11 PM available for a very reasonable fee, which is completely understandable.

A huge, special thank you to the ice cream guy! He saw us sitting on regular chairs in the heat, immediately spoke to his colleague, cleared some space by the pool, and got us proper pool loungers. It was such a thoughtful gesture that really made our day.

Unfortunately, we did witness a few UK family kids acting entitled, rude, and talking down to the hotel staff. Despite this disrespect, the staff remained patient, professional, and gracious at all times. They deserve so much respect for the hard work they do every day.

A Quick Tip for Visitors:

Please be aware that there are quite a lot of chain smokers around, If you or your family want to avoid inhaling a lot of secondhand smoke, you may just want to sit a bit further back in the reception lobby.

Be aware that people wake up very early to reserve the pool lounge chairs with their towels and bags for the whole day, so spots can fill up quickly.

Overall, we had an incredible holiday filled with amazing service, friendly faces, and great memories. We are leaving happy, refreshed, and so grateful to the entire Hotel Esra team. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Value for money 💰

This hotel is typically what I expected. We were looking for a cheap deal at the end of the school holidays and this looked to be the best value for money.

We arrived just after midnight, check in was quick. We were given a double room on the 6th floor (clean & adequate) but had booked a twin, we were too tired to ask to be moved. We were woken the next morning (and every other thereafter) by the cleaning trolleys above our heads.

Breakfast isn’t the greatest, very random. Give kids the choice of chips and they’ll have them. Lunch & dinner are ok, always meat to put with rice/potatoes/vegetables/salad but it does become repetitive. Was surprised by the size of the restaurant in comparison to the hotel but could always find a table. Workers were quick to assist with water/cutlery. The outside snack bar had something everyone could eat.

Fast bar service, entertainment team lovely. All workers very pleasant & efficient, cleaners always left towel animals which my daughter loved.

Sunbed wars yes but we’ve had this at most other hotels we’ve stayed in. You need to put your towels down before 07:45 otherwise you’re not likely to get one.

Bakery over the road - bagels and freshly squeezed orange juice are unbelievable & great to have the convenience of a Migros for all your essentials. Sky bar has a good atmosphere to watch the football. Short walk to Altinkum beach front/Dolphin Square, we had a wander down every night.

Overall this hotel does what it’s supposed to for a price I would say is fair. It is dated but you can’t expect anything more for the money you pay. Everyone round the pool is very friendly but some children should be supervised more - unfortunately saw a few who were left to roam freely around the hotel. That’s on the parents though.

My daughter wanted french gel on her toes & the lady in the salon took her down on her moped which was so lovely of her.

Rude and biased staff

The hotel itself was a great stay apart from the pool staff and the hotel manager, as a family we tried to make a complaint due to a discrepancy with one of the pool staff being rude and tried to argue with a young member of the family via google translate, being told “we speak and laugh about 50 people a day” and then told not to worry about it. We then proceeded to make a complaint but due to the biased hotel manager it was clear that we were wasting our time. We were told there is no procedure for making a complaint. Very disappointing. Would not return here again.

nice but we wouldn’t come back

we just got back from turkey,it was good but not our fav holiday.Do not have any milk/egg/flour food such as omelettes/scrambled eggs because on the first day,i’m not going to say who but someone in my family got diarrhoea from the omelette.for two days in a row apparently a man pooed in the pool so it was shut for two days bar staff were very happy and were on it as soon as u walked up to the bar.cats everywhere, so don’t go if u are allergic! only a 5 minute walk to the beach so we were there most nights, but around 6-7 we saw queuing up for the food and the entertainment, anyone will talk to you and everyone is very friendly, there is a lot of activities/water polo/table tennis tournaments/darts.Every day though as soon as we woke up there was crying.it is quite loud noise so if you are looking for a peaceful hotel don’t go here.Rooms were ok.We did book a twin bed (two doubles) and got a double and a fold out bed.Every day the cleaner stocked our room with bottles of water and every day she always made us a nice little animal out of towels. the atmosphere was very loud and party like.the pool party was very lively and loud but go out on the pool party night if you want some peace and quiet. The value for money is about a 4/5 because we were expecting still a loud hotel but it was very lively and loud and not very peaceful. It is a nice hotel but we wouldn’t come back.
