Firstly we had a great 10 days at this hotel.
Food was nice, always cooked and tasted nice, we did get bored after 10 days but in my opinion that’s standard on any holiday. I would say, we found you had to get to breakfast/lunch/dinner (in the main restaurant) pretty sharp or it was like feeding time at the zoo, ques for food and some super bad mannered guests banging into children and pushing in front of others (obv not hotels fault) Hotel was spotless and you constantly see staff cleaning. The kids disco was a little bit later than most other hotels starting at 9pm and when you have a 1 year old and 5 year old this was a bit of a struggle as they where shattered but they managed.
My main issue we had with the hotel actually happened on our first night. When we arrived around 12-1am we checked in and got to our room only to find no cot for our 1 year old (I had even asked at reception before hand and was told yes you have one) anyhoo we asked the bell boy for a cot and he said 20mins, we waited and nothing, called reception told it was coming and nothing. Anyway needless to say we were shattered and after waiting an hour we had to get the children to bed and our 1 year old fell out the bed and got a nasty bang on her head. When we spoke to reception about this in the morning it was brushed off as nothing, and no apology, and told we would have a cot in room straight away, which we did get but it didn’t set the holiday up on a good front. We did end up upgrading our room to a swim up for more space which was lovely, and again reception said they would send someone to help with bags to move room and nobody arrived so we had to move all our cases and buggy etc with two young children which wasn’t ideal. Lastly no iron in room or and ironing room in the hotel, they only have a laundry service which is a bit rubbish when they charge 3€ per shirt
All of that aside, it is a lovely hotel, and staff are very nice. Would we rush back probably not, but mainly because we like to try new places however if we struggle to find something we like one year it will definitely be an option.
Lovely meal at Olivia this evening. Great food - good service - not rushed and the children fed early, which got rid of a lot of grumpiness! Have a glass of Ramazotti at the end, lovely finish!
This was our first visit to this side of Turkey, and unfortunately it was also the most expensive all-inclusive holiday we’ve ever booked for two weeks. We had high expectations, but left feeling very disappointed.
The biggest let-down was the food. For the entire first week, the buffet barely changed, and there seemed to be more flies around the food than people eating it. Most of the food and plates were cold, which was disappointing, although there was a microwave tucked away in the children’s section. During the second week there were a few subtle menu changes, but not enough to make much difference.
The restaurant staff rarely engaged with guests unless we approached them first, so the service lacked the welcoming atmosphere you hope for on holiday.
The à la carte restaurants were the highlight of our stay and honestly saved the holiday to some extent. However, we were only allowed to use them for dinner three times over the two weeks. The Italian restaurant was open every lunchtime, but with exactly the same menu every day, so that became repetitive too.
We stayed in one of the lakeside rooms, which was perfectly adequate for the two of us. The bar staff around the lakeside were genuinely friendly and worked hard. That said, we heard numerous families complaining that the same-sized rooms were expected to accommodate four people, which seemed very cramped.
The drinks were another disappointment. After trying most of the spirits available throughout our stay, I still never managed to feel even slightly tipsy, which makes you wonder just how weak the measures or the spirits actually were.
One thing we absolutely can recommend is the tattoo studio. We both had tattoos done during our stay and they are fantastic. If you’re thinking about getting a tattoo or even just a touch-up, we’d highly recommend the artists there.
Overall, this hotel simply wasn’t for us, and it certainly wasn’t worth the amount of money we paid. After more than 10 years of happily choosing all-inclusive holidays, this experience has completely put us off booking another one.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and this is ours. If you’ve worked hard and saved all year for this holiday, I’d seriously consider looking elsewhere. For the price we paid, it just wasn’t worth it.
We have had a fantastic time at Aquasis. A Particular highlight has been the lovely, attentive staff across the resort and in particular at the cabana’s, beach bar and Turkish A La Cart. Having celiacs, I was concerned about being able to eat with the family but the staff at the a la cart were particularly knowledgable, made me feel at ease and ensured I was well informed and did not miss out on anything as they prepared food which isn’t usually served. The children had an amazing time at the pool, on slides and taking part in the entertainment.
We stayed for 7 days on the 1st of july and wow what a beautiful hotel! Such a high standard. We stayed in the main building with land view and the rooms were super spacious, very clean, the mini fridge was topped up free of charge everyday with coke, fanta, fruit juice and water. The beds were comfortable and easily fit a family of 4. The room consisted of a kingsze 1 single and a pull out sofa bed. The pools are amazing a wrap around huge pool a good size shallow baby pool and a splash pool with mini slides. The hotel had fantastic water slides to keep the older children entertained which was great. The food was truly fantastic so much choice. So fresh... they had everything you could think of. We didnt get bored of the main resturant like you tend to on a all inclusive. So much choice we couldnt believe how good the food was. The snack bar was super handy if you didnt want to go to main resturant for lunch. That was a bit more repetitive but perfect for kids and if your wanting a poolside snack. We didnt visit the beach snack bar but also heard great things. The beach was lovely. Water was crystal clear. Its shingle/sand so sea shoes came in handy. Parts were a tad rocky but just had to walk up the beach a little and it was less rocky. Location wise it is out the way.. however there is a bus that can take you into town for 100 lira these run every 15 mintues. Taxis cost 500 lira each way. Altinkum was lovely lots of shops bars and resturants. We visited topkapi which had great entertainment, food and drinks! If you book to go they will pick you up and drop you off free of charge from the hotel. The staff at the aquasis will go above and beyond and work so hard. Trips we recommend the safari jeep excursion where you have water gun fights with other jeeps.. you visit a temple, a beautiful turkish cafe with a big swimming pool, horse riding for a extra cost. We then was taken to a cafe where we had lunch overlooking the sea. Finshed off by being taken to a beautiful beach where you can swim and grab a lovely cold drink and icecream. Inbetween the stops its absoloutley brilliant with the water fights we booked with imx tours. Overall highly recommend this hotel! We will be back. X
