This hotel is not a 4 star, 2 at best. The dining room is a shambles if you dont get there as it opens you will find dirty tables & you have to hunt for cutlery. The food is not labled & if you spot a chef to ask they dont speak English, so any one with allergies will have a problem. The room we had was at the front of the hotel so very noisy, it was very small & only had one plug socket in the bathroom, if you need air con at night they have it set up so the bedside light stays on. In the bar area there are no loos you have quite a walk to the nearest one. The glasses are really small & the 2 cocktails are horrid the staff barely speak any English. There private beach is down an alley opposite the hotel, the bar they serve very small cups of soft drinks, & its up off the beach the beds look old & tired. The priority seems to be the Russians & Turks who did not like queuing for anything. I've travelled all over in the last 2 years & this was the worst hotel. The snack bar was our save even though everything comes with chips & only soft drinks & beer. The take out lunch on the day you leave was one small bun with meat? & cheese and an apple.
Just returned home from a week at this hotel.
The room wasn’t cleaned once during our stay. The maid came in appeared to open the patio door and leave it open - despite us leaving it locked when leaving the room AND being on the ground floor! There was no evidence of anything having been cleaned, the shower was filthy and we had to continuously ask for toilet roll and clean towels. The maid took a blanket off the bed leaving my mother with no blanket for the evening & night. When we requested one from reception we were told to wait until morning. They did however provide water as we had requested (although I believe this is all that they did).
Food is bog standard and very monotonous. Our family are not fussy eaters however we lived off mainly bread, cheese & salad. It’s impossible to queue for any of the meat dishes outside or any of the other fresh food stalls as certain guests feel they can push in. I eventually lost count at the amount of times my 6 year old niece was barged out of the way during food times by russian guests.
The hotel is mainly Russian guests and the few English people we did find agreed that the hotel caters for the Russian guests opposed to any other nationality be it with the food or most of the entertainment. We were told that my 6 year old niece couldn’t have a plastic cup for her soft drink round the pool yet the Russian family behind us in the queue were provided with plastic cups with a soft drink. Rules seem to apply to certain guests and not others.
The entertainment was decent, the guys came round every day advising us of the entertainment that night. They do their best and deserve some credit.
The staff were rude and miserable, despite my family going out of our way to be polite and courteous. That is of course excluding the entertainment guys, the lady who cooks the fresh donuts in the morning and the young lad who works as the concierge. They all deserve some credit.
The pool is great and is one thing I will miss about the hotel. Bear in mind it is very slippy when walking around and definitely could do with some sort of anti slip matts. There was always sunbeds which is a plus.
Its a shame because this hotel could be so much better and has the means to do very well and get 5* reviews however I feel the staff are so used to being around rude guests with zero manners that they just tar everyone with the same brush which is incredibly sad.
Inevitably we will never return to this hotel nor would I recommend it to anyone.
Had the worst holiday here not 4 star wouldn't give it 1 star Where do i start arrived ask for 2 rooms we had one and my 2 grandson had one the other side off us Clean had to ask Manager can we have clean bedding and towels Food was disgusting had to line up to eat then when food was empty didn't fill them up again On snack bar just burger chips burgers not cooked enough All the 10 days we where there No choice my grandsons was starving we all lived of crisps the whole time we was there The hotel had 1 shop and no bars are restaurants to eat safe to say will.mot be returning. Please save your money We paid £3000 for this holiday.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! The maids steal and damage items from your room, and when you talk to reception they say they can’t speak english so can’t help & then accuse you of lying about it. When we reported the issue management came to our room and demanded to go through our belongings to see if we were lying, claiming the maids only came to our room 1 time in 7 days despite there being clean towels and our beds made everyday.
We stayed at Tu Casa Gelidonya from 7–11 June and had a very pleasant experience. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, which made us feel right at home throughout our stay. The hotel rooms were very clean and well maintained. In terms of hygiene, the standards were excellent and compared very favourably with many ultra-luxury 5-star hotels. Overall, we were impressed with the cleanliness, hospitality, and comfortable atmosphere, and we would happily recommend this hotel to others.
