We have just returned from our third visit to Voyage Belek. We first visited 15 years ago for our honeymoon and were absolutely blown away by the hotel. From that point on, every holiday was measured against the standards set by Voyage.
We returned again in 2019 after the hotel had undergone a major refurbishment and were even more impressed by the changes and upgrades that had been made. So, when it came to celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and two milestone birthdays this year, Voyage Belek seemed the obvious choice.
However, there was always a risk that a third visit might not live up to our memories. While we still had a very good holiday, it didn't quite match our previous experiences at the hotel compared to some other hotels we have visited in recent years.
The Staff
Without question, the staff are the hotel's greatest asset. They are the best hotel team we have encountered anywhere in the world, and we were genuinely humbled by how hard they work and how much they care about the guests' experience.
Two members of staff in particular stood out, although unfortunately we did not get their names.
The first greeted us when we arrived late in the evening to check in. He may have been part of the Guest Relations team. He was bald, of average height, and absolutely outstanding. He had arranged a room upgrade, along with balloons, chocolates and a bottle of bubbly waiting in our room, which was a wonderful touch. Throughout our stay he regularly checked in with us to see how things were going and seemed genuinely interested in our feedback.
A week into our holiday, he even found us by the pool and invited us to dine at the Italian à la carte restaurant free of charge that evening. When we arrived, he had arranged for our table to be decorated with rose petals, making the evening feel truly special.
The second staff member worked around the adult pool and beach area, keeping everything clean and tidy. He spoke to us every day and was a genuinely lovely person who clearly took great pride in both his work and ensuring guests had a good experience.
The Guests
This is where our experience began to decline slightly.
During our previous visits, the hotel had a great mix of nationalities, which created a welcoming and diverse atmosphere. This time, however, the guest demographic had changed significantly, with the vast majority of guests appearing to come from one country.
Unfortunately, we found many of these guests to be rude and dismissive towards staff, often treating them with little respect. There were still guests from other countries, including the UK, but the international mix that we had enjoyed on previous visits was not as evident, and the atmosphere felt different as a result.
The Hotel
At times, the hotel felt a little style over substance, with some basic standards not being consistently delivered.
For example, the television is built into a large mirror, which looked impressive when first introduced, but seven years later the TVs feel small compared to those in many competing hotels and do not offer the ability to stream services such as Netflix.
Housekeeping and room replenishment were inconsistent throughout our stay. On different days we found ourselves without coffee, coffee whitener, beer, water or shower gel. To be fair, whenever we reported these issues through the virtual assistant service they were resolved quickly, but these are basic expectations that ideally should not need to be reported.
The pillows were good quality but quite firm, so a pillow menu would have been a welcome addition.
We also felt the buffet restaurant had declined since our previous visits. There appeared to be less choice, and the quality and temperature of the food was not as good as we remembered. In contrast, Cuisine 24 was excellent, offering freshly cooked food 24 hours a day and often providing a better dining experience.
The Patisserie remains fantastic, with a great selection of high-quality cakes and pastries, while the bars offer an excellent choice of premium drinks and cocktails.
Bar service could be a little inconsistent at times, and staff occasionally seemed stretched compared to what we have experienced there in the past. We did, however, appreciate the QR code ordering service available around the pools and beach, alongside the traditional waiter service.
One other minor issue was an occasional sewage smell in certain parts of the hotel. It never lasted long, but it was noticeable and not particularly pleasant when it occurred.
Overall
For many guests, this hotel will still be exceptional, and we absolutely understand why it continues to receive such positive reviews.
For us, however, some of the sparkle and charm that made Voyage Belek stand out has faded slightly. While the hotel remains very good, it feels as though some competitors have continued to evolve and improve, whereas Voyage Belek has perhaps stood still in certain areas.
That said, our sincere thanks go to all of the wonderful staff. Their professionalism, warmth and dedication are what continue to make Voyage Belek a special place to holiday, and they remain the reason we would consider returning in the future.
Spent a week at Voyage with family and had fantastic time despite the weather being changeable to say the least!! We stayed in the main building and the room was fine although the ladies did complain about needing somewhere better for getting their hair and make up done .Shower was excellent. We mainly had breakfast and dinner at the 24hr a la carte which was excellent, all the staff were lovely but need to say that Savas was an absolute star and made us feel so welcome. Everywhere in the hotel had so many staff and all went out of there way to help make our stay as good as it was. A little niggle was that the sunbeds weren't as good as other hotels which have padded beds. We were very well looked after by Osman who kept us topped up with drinks and crisps. Overall had a great time and hopefully will return soon
We re leaving today .I would maybe have given a 3.5 rating up to 5 minutes ago when we were told to move from the comfy sunbeds .Yesterday we were on them with no problems at all ,there's no queue for them ,we re quiet just lazing and reading .We had not been informed that you had to book and pay for them .Only one occupied, very bad PR I would say. Having stayed in a different hotel for the first 5 days of our holiday we naturally compared this hotel to the lovely previous one. This hotel is very modern all QR codes and feels rather cold and heartless. The room was a bit tired ,clean except for the back of the makeup mirror being dirty. The bed was huge and comfy . Mostly the staff were friendly and attentive and undoubtedly hard working and do a great job. You have to book the al a carte restaurants through your personal customer liason, which is quite tricky as its all done on an app via messages and quite frustrating . The supper on our first day in the adult restaurant was very underwhelming as mostly luke warm , breakfast there was much better. The food in the 24 hour restaurant was mostly good. The fish and steak restaurants were very good ,we couldn't get reservations at any of the others. It is in a good location near to the city and within 10 minutes of lots of golf clubs . We would not return here as there are far better hotels in the area.
We arrived at the hotel quite late after an excellent private transfer through EasyJet holidays. First impressions were excellent as we were given a glass of sparkling wine and chocolate strawberries. The assistants were on hand to get us checked in and set up our phones which then takes the bar codes from around the hotel. This was done so quickly by the assistants themselves, taking our phones and adding all the details in that we had no time to finish our drink before being taken to our room which was in the main building. The room was lovely and spacious with extras of a beach bag and pillow spray.
We unpacked and went to the 24 hour restaurant where we had a quick snack. I’m saying ‘quick’ because it arrived very quick as does the food in all restaurants. Including the à la carte restaurants which were not included in our booking. We decided to book and pay for the Italian, Mexican and Chinese as we were not impressed with the buffets. We found the food cold, especially in the adult buffet. There was never any poached eggs or proper sausages. We ate breakfast here twice but ended up eating in the main buffet for the rest of the week.
Although the room was really nice, the layout isn’t the best with hardly any storage space and drawers. The sockets in the room were unusable until we contacted the Manager Mehmet who arranged for these to be fixed. The usb sockets still didn’t work but at least we could charge our phones beside the bed rather than on the floor using the lamp socket.
Talking of Mehmet, he was wonderful at making sure our holiday went without any more hitches and frequently checked in with us. We also raised concerned with him about the booking app as we found it difficult to book the à la carte restaurants we wanted through it and when booked into the Mexican, we turned up only to find they didn’t have our booking! We managed to eventually get in at 8.30pm and this meal was offered to us free.
The service at the hotel is excellent and the staff are so friendly and attentive. I especially loved being served by Zeki and Yusuf on the roller-skates. These guys do an amazing job keeping you hydrated by the pool or on the adult pier. Turguet also said hello every day and always looked after us.
The fitness team also do an amazing job. Because the weather wasn’t great, I participated in a few sports activities and visited the gym. It is very well equipped.
Our flight on the last day didn’t leave until late so we wanted to pay to keep our room on. This wasn’t possible so we used the Comfort zone. This has lockers, showers and rooms in which you can sleep. It is very adequate for what you need it for but I would still have liked to stay in my own room.
Would I return? Probably no. Although the hotel has excellent staff and facilities, the food is a big part of our holiday and this lets it down.
Literally just home from the Voyage. Honest opinion - hotel grounds, food, drinks setting all excellent however the standard of accommodation was extremely disappointing!
We had a garden duplex which upon arrival was absolutely filthy! We were moved to another room however it wasn't much better. Complained again and moved once more to a room which was just about acceptable.
Rooms are very dated, run down dirty and smelly. Dirty grout, shower seals were discussing. Dust and grime on switches, plug sockets not attached or working, light fittings hanging off ..... I could go on and supply many pictures if anyone wants further info.
I think for a hotel claiming to be 5* they really need to invest in room upgrades and deep cleaning.
From day 3 on we had a really lovely time. Honestly can't fault the amenities of the complex. Just major attention needs to be given to the garden and pool duplex suits.
Sorry for the negativity, however I think you need to give an honest review and had I know in advance about the standard of the room I would have booked a different hotel. Holidays are not cheap these days, for the amount of money we spend for 10days I would expected a much higher level of cleanliness and for the accommodation to be properly maintained.
